Maybe you just need a better computer or connection. I get lag in heavy populated area's but rarely when grinding. Also try running a virus scan, that might have something to do with it

Try turning off your firewalls, and make sure your not running/downloading anything while your trying to play this game. Also, if you have something like: kazaa, bearshare, limewire ect...That can have a MAJOR impact on your lagging, wheter its turned on or not.

i'm no expert but if you have saved alot of pictures, videos, songs, etc., maybe you should try scanning for viruses, that, or you can try defragmenting your computer's stored data, that may cause less lagging, but like i said, i'm no expert, by the way if that works and if i can get on would you mind forming a party with me, sorry it's just a habit of mine; never go into a new game with out help!
p.s. i'm trying to get onto solstice.

hey one more thing, you might have one or more worms on your computer, i'm not trying to insult you, but if you don't know what a worm is it is a programe that can slow down a computer, or even cause it to freeze, there are websites that can get rid of worms for you, if you didn't already try that. well that's all i can think of for now!

sorry no new answers here, but i do have another question, if i am low on virtual memory, could that be keeping me from downloading solstice properly?

you need a full 2 gig to fully have it installed for the game and directX9c

I have noticed significant lagging on fairly new (<1 year) laptop 2GHz Intel 1GB Ram, The whole machine slows down (slowdown increases the longer Fiesta is running). Reboot restores normal speed so my problem is with Fiesta Client vs System Resources.
My laptop is probably quite close to the minimum specification for the game, I suspect that memory is the main issue as the machine eventually speeds up if I quit Fiesta and wait (that cannot be a processor or graphics issue).
Firewall makes no difference in my experience, I would NOT recommend running anything online without a firewall enabled, Antivirus (I use Norton) may slow things a bit but, again, you shoud never disable this while online.
I suspect the Fiesta client has issues but more RAM should help.
** Edit **- Sorry, I think I posted in the wrong Forum but comments probably still apply
