Why is the BitTorrent DNA Client trying to talk to IRC??

After installing this game I noticed that the bottorrent DNA clinet used to do patching is tryign to talk to an IRC channel. This does not give me a warm fuzzy. Can you please explain this and why DNA is running in the background all the time instead of when needed to initiate an update download?

Hi Kylisandra,


According to the devs the BitTorrent DNA client picks a random port to listen to for "presistent" patching information. Currently there is nothing for it to "listen" to, I.E. no patches just yet, and it chose the port that IRC uses by chance. We will be addressing this issue (blocking DNA from wanting to try and use IRC ports) and we thank you for bringing it to our attention.
