If you say you're a tank, sure fine, derived from the meaning of main battle tank, you are tough, and you can take major hits.
Now you call yourself a tanker? does that mean you drank 10 barrels of oil and you swim incredible slow that, if you get hit you explode into big ball of flame?

They just mean they tank often most likely. Normally a lot of people ask for a 'tanker' instead of just saying a tank. ;D

Well, 'Tank' is also used as a verb, so 'Tanker' is as valid as 'Tanking' in that sense.

That's a very very strange logic you got there, as 'Tank' and 'Tanker' are two completely different things, how could you link them together? Fiesta Online is the only place I saw using 'Tanker' to refer to 'tank'.

OK I'll settle this argument. But my explaination will be so boring that I'm quite sure no one will read to the end.
"Tank" as a noun origially meant "Metal Container." This definition is loosly applied to the slang word: "Tank" meaning an Amored Calviry Vehicle.
Since Tanks are so tough on the battlefield, this term was slanged again for use in the gaming community.
Now, "Tanker" is the occupational noun of "tank." Example: A "Miner" mines, a "Climber" Climbs, and a "Tanker" tanks. The "er" suffix denotes an occupational description.
Now, the metal container definition of the word was also, incorrectly, termed "tanker" because people like to give human characteristics to automobiles, even Semi-Trucks.
So, I hope that serves as something of an exlaination.
