As a intro to this guide, as the name states it is on Kingdom
Quests; they are quests available from, what I have seen, level
5-16. Generally the quest is a massive-sized army squashing
of monsters untill you reach the Chief-Monster which your party must
then defeat.
While I did just state it is
level's 5-16, I do not advise going as a level 5 personally.
While this suggestion like any can be taken with a grain of salt
and ignored; most enemies in this quest do insane amounts of damage
compared to our average enemies, the weakest the "Power Slime" hitting
a level 13 for about 57 a hit, up to the Prince's who do about 137 a
hit and then their unsurmountable KING SLIME which will do a "Doom
Bounce" that deals 496 damage.
Now, the
concept of these is really simple. You start out and have 50
Minutes to go up three levels of a mountain, and your job is to kill
all the enemies and their chieftain. The enemies as you climb
the mountain will grow progressively stronger, most of them -requiring-
you have a group with you if you want to defeat them without using a
average of about 5 health potions per Prince Slime.
Now survival
this is really easy guys. There's a three step process I
use as a fighter. Guide -> Taunt -> Kill, you guide
your team along the paths, you taunt every monster to you while being
sure the cleric intends to heal you; keep potions just incase, and
finally killing the monster. But I will be more indepth
about this.
Cleric - I am not ignorant, clerics make very
capable melee units, better than fighter IF you consider they can heal
themselves; but this is a group effort clerics. Keep an eye on
your team mates and keep them alive, once their lives are out, they're
gone and you will soon likely follow. Simple right? Keep behind
the fighter, and remember that you are the second line of defense, and
in alot of cases the first if your fighter isn't the brightest ever and
runs into a mob and dies. However, your primary focus in Kingdom
Quests NEEDS to be healing. Most people at these
lower levels cant afford to carry 200 healing potions and it saves
everyone alot of money if you just heal people when necessary, not to
mention you all will need the potions against the King Slime's Summons.
Against the King Slime, you have two jobs. The first
is to heal the warrior that is running around flailing his arms as the
King slime tries to smash him with it's Area of Effect bounce.
The second is to melee-kill it's summons. I advise personally
against meleeing the king slime as you will likely die to it's bounce attack.
Fighter
- Your job is simple, taunting the enemy off the monsters, taking
damage, and being the spearpoint of the group. Try to use
Snearing Kick at the farthest possible range to ensure you only
are pulling a single enemy at a time, this becomes important against
the Prince and Gold slimes. Against the King it will be
incredibly important that you taunt and run around in circles to
distract it while your team mates that are ranged lay down law on it.
This may seem humiliating, but the alternative is dying within
four minutes unless you are actually very seasoned at battling the King
Slime; watch for his bounce to appear as it's a fairly higher bounce
than normal. Unfortunately, he bounces to move so I dont expect
most people to be able to do this as I can not myself.
Against normal enemy's you will want to almost always start one fight
off with concussive charge, while starting off the following fight with
the Attack Speed reducing attack, this is all after taunt mind you;
with this method you minimalise damage being done to you.
Archer
- You have a wonderful job archers, and if done right you are
invaluable to us all. Shoot enemies, and do not stop shooting,
it's the simplest job out of all of these, even against the King your
strategy does not change one bit. The important thing to
remember is if a enemy charges you, if you haven't made a chat macro to
scream "TAUNT IT OFF ME" yet, do so as you will need it to avoid
wasting time and DPS that you could of been dealing. Be sure to
carry mana potions for your special attacks and 20 heal potions will
suffice in a 'good' group, as you shouldn't need the emergency potions
often. However, never attack before the Fighter, unless
there isn't one; then the cleric goes first. The reasoning here
is, the fighter should be snearing kicking all enemies within reason so
that people do not die.
Mage - You have a great job, much
like the archers. Your job is to avoid the front lines; blow up
the King and Minions that the fighter has taunted, and generally do a
great job at damage output. Much like in the archer's advice, do
not attack enemies first, let a melee land the first hit and always
have a chat-macro ready to scream for a enemy to be pulled off of you.
Emergency healing potions are a must, and you -need- tons of
mana potions. If too many minions are summoned by the king,
avoid the king and help blow them up; slimes are deadly in
numbers.
All in all people, the guide-lines for the
KINGDOM QUEST is simple for every class. Do your jobs as I
mentioned, make sure your fighter's have snearing kick, and you're
bound to succeed as long as everyone follows the most important
guideline of them all.... STAY TOGETHER IN ONE GIANT GROUP AND DO NOT WANDER.
