Yeah, this is a rant, so if you are not in that mood, please ignore the post. :)

Man, each time I want to buy something from a player I get this kind of crap, but it seems I never learn.

I see shops with "cheap green gear" "godly stats" "fast sale" "bank clearance" and stuff like this... I click on them... and what I see? I see lev. 20 white hammers at 10s, green mage staves with + str lev 20 as well at 15s, 2h swords with +int (lev 30!!) with ratman licence (*** was in his mind ffs??) at 30s, "cheapest elrues[1]" at 500c, T1 hp pots at 500c, sbl at 40s (is not a joke, i have screen-shots) with the add "sbl only 40!!!", reset stats scrolls at 600s, lev 50 cutlass +1 at 5g. I see people buying mats for 1c, I see people selling as[1] for 1s each, or t1 vit scrolls for 1.5s.

And the list can go on almost forever...

This makes any attempt to shopping an unpleasant experience...

I mean, I understand they want to make some money, but selling greens with useless stats at extremely high prices is more like an attempt to scam than vendoring. And I can see the hp/sp of the people that sell those items... they are not below level 30 for sure, so they are supposed to know the market.

Don't you feel the same anger when you meet a guy who's trying to rob you blind?

In fact, it is annoying. If you're new to fiesta and try to get an idea of how much money your items are worth, you really have to watch out.
As you said, selling items for incredibly high prices is neither illegal nor effective. But sometimes you're lucky and someone believes the slogans of your shop.
In most games, you'll find this "problem" which is annoying but not really serious.

After all, I understand your feelings and sometimes I'm tempted to shout at all the merchants out of frustration because I haven't found the desired item at a reasonable price.
Mostly, it's just my keyboard which suffers from sudden angry eruptions...

I guess they must see it as N00b tax. Because it really is exploiting those new to the system and for the most part a lot of newbies might see high stats and not really realise they are useless or that they could get them a lot quicker.

But it is really cheeky but where money is concerned even fake money in a game people can become stupid in their attempt to get some.

I agree with you Haiid. It irritates me seeing people advertising "cheapest in game" on their vendor and they're 99% of the time more expensive than ones right next to them. I hate false advertising but can you do aye? :s

I just get annoyed at the fact that SOOO many people misspell 'Elrue' as 'Elure'

And also, the numerous people that just spam the chat what they are selling. These people should get banned for a couple of hours

It's interesting that I can now tell what shops to avoid by several keywords.

'Cheap' or 'cheapest' almost always means the most expensive in the entire town.
