Well, I'm a fan of serveral generic MMO, and this one seems to beat the multitudes that i am apart of, via graphics and gameplay...

So I would like to get started, making my character a fighter. Now, I have looked at guides up the wazoo, and still can't decided on how i want my build...

Now, thats not my question, I would like to know the process of building, like, distribution of points per level, or upgrade...

-How many should go here?
-How many should go there?
-What shouldn't go here or there?

This is only to be a preference, as maybe most people choose differently, but I would love some views on this so I can figure how I should regulate my stats.

I want to have an effective character, and be useful to future parties, instead of a lowly noob looking for acceptance, when it's highly impossible that he will...

(no dis against noobs, I am still one of them... just want to come out of the status rather than stay in it...)

Can anyone help?:D

My build is 1:2 Str:End, and has served me well. I tanked King Slime at lvl 13 with it. If you want to tank, that is. If not, 2:1 Str:End will make for a good DD fighter. I don't think it's smart to go pure anything. However, I'm still a bit of a rookie fighter myself, so don't take my word for it. I do know that pure anything isn't smart for a cleric, but there is a slight difference in the two. :p

Keeping in mind that this is an opinion thread, here is my advice with regards to skill point allocation.

Never spend points on intelligence. Intelligence does not benefit fighters.
Never spend points on dexterity. Missing is easily remedied by using a power (aim) scroll, and evasion isn't worth it.
If you want to deal damage, focus on strength. If you want to mitigate damage, focus on endurance.
Dip into spirit if you wish to increase your critical strike rate, but don't spend more than 25 points here. For the first 25 points spent in spirit, you gain +0.2% critical strike chance per point. Beyond 25 points, diminishing returns reduce your gain to +0.1%Personally, I've gone with a full strength build (free stats and equips) + axe, and I've no regrets whatsoever.
