Ok...about the laging.....i get it every so offten...like every day....and i heard from a diffrent topic that it might be my graphic card....but the thing is idk what that is so idk if that is what the problem is...so how do you check something like that....

4. Brief Description of the problem - Lagging you say? Do you get kicked out, any errors or such?


5. Name of any anti-virus software and type of firewall you may have
(ex: "I have MacAfee and I run ZoneAlarm too" or "AVG Anti-virus and I
have Windows firewall activated")


6. Please run DxDiag (Start>Run>dxdiag>OK...check System, Display and Sound tabs for the following, and post it back here:

4.Well mainly idk if its laging but i am preaty sure thats what its called....like the screen wil keep freezing....but it like skips and its...it like freezes and like stays there for a few seconeds....and then moves and freezes again.It does not happen all the time...it happens alot...i get maybe 2 hours of it real bad every day.But it comes on and off.Like just 5 mins ago i was getting it..now i am good...but some times it last a long time.And when it does last a long time i just shut down my system for a few mins and then start it up again.


5.i just have the compleat norton package with everything including fire wall.And that x-trap game security thing that came with ur game.

One thing jumps right out at me. "Memory: 446MB RAM"


I am assuming you are using Windows XP or Vista. I would suggest bumping yourself to a full 1024MB of ram.


I would imagine that with only 446MB of ram that your swapfile usage is high. This is what I think is causing your issue. It certainly sounds like it.


Windows XP alone does not run all that well with less than 512MB of Ram. Not to mention with a game running on top of that.

That would depend on a few things.


We need to figure out some things first.


1) Are you going to want to do it yourself?


If so:


2) Is it a laptop or PC?


3) What brand, type, and quantity is your current ram?


4) How many slots for ram are there on your motherboard?


If you answered no to question 1 just take your pc to your local shop and explain that you want to increase the ram to 1GB.





If you have not delved into the inner workings of your PC I would suggest going to a local tech shop.

Not without knowing where you live and what type of ram is currently in your system. If your PC was purchased from a store (local or online) Your best bet is to call them. They can give you any info you need. Including an estimate for your ram upgrade.

WinFast PX7900 GT? Is that an onboard graphics card? If it is, that may be the issue.





General tips to help eleviate lag:


1) Defragment your hard drive. (I do this weekly)


2) Scan your hard drive frequently. (I use AdawareSE, AVG, and Spybot Search & Destroy)


3) Clear your internet browser cache. (This can help with things like tracking cookies and other nasties that crop up from even the most casual surfing)


4) Make sure your system is not overheating or getting to the hot side.


5) Turn off unwaneted and unneeded services. (There are a few good guides for this on the internet)


6) Turn off those nasty little programs that always run in the background. (icons near the system clock)


To give you an example, I have three things running at all times. Volume control, Motherboard temp monitor, and my mouse software. Although my mouse software gets turned off for Fiesta but that is because of an issue with the security software they use.


Those are about all I can think of at the moment. (It is waay past my bedtime)





If you still get lag...


Ping the server you are trying to connect to.


Do a speed test http://www.speakeasy.net is a good one. (Test to a local that is close AND one that is far away) Living in southern CA I test to LA, and* to Washington DC or NY.


If you find bad times on your tests, contact your service provider. Make sure they are not doing work in the area or that there were other complaints.

everything is fine with my pc coz i reformated my pc few days ago. dont have too unneeded services, and near my system clock only volume control, motherboard temp monitor

I have 1Gig of ram, and a moderately good video card, and it still lags for me sometimes. If your video card is crap, don't even bother with the game in congested areas.

Even though you just formatted and installed I would suggest a defrag. Installing windows fragments a hard drive like you can't even imagine.


As for the ports... I doubt they are much of an issue but your best bet is to find out what ports the game uses and then call your ISP to see what they do or do not block.

The fact that you have good performance in one online game and bad in another does not mean that it is necessarily a server issue.


You also need to take into consideration that the servers for the two games in your example may very well be in different geographical locations. Internet routing issues can often play a huge part in whether or not you get lag.

kk....well...i am sorry for so many questions....but i only have 2 left....first....my computer is been acting weird...like when i go to my web site...it will most of the time eather say could not find page...or it will bring up the page with a whole bunch of errors on it...like things out of place...and it will says its done loading...do you know whats the proble with that....


 


last problem....in the game i have a mage....i have noticed that i am not getting a skill point everytime i lev....i have only been getting one every 3 levs!!and also my mage seems a little weak and so do his spells.....and its become really hard to lev him up...idk what do do there...???

For the mage questions we can meet in game. Although, I am not sure what help I could be.


As far as the internet browsing goes that is a little more involved.


It would help to know what browser model and version you use. Internet explorer, firefox, opera, etc.


I would clear your temp internet files and make sure your browser is updated. This should help at least in part.

Well....i was lev 19....and my mage was only doing 130 damage...then i got back on and he was doing 170 damage....idk...maybe it was a bug??....and i use internet explorer.I clear my temp internet files once a weak.And idk if my browser is updated.....and i got a idea.....next time it happens.....i am going to take a screen shoot....and show you....do you have msn or aim or xfire ....or any instant messanger like that??

Yes I use Trillian to connect to MSN, Yahoo, and AIM. Although it is rarely on these days. I use the same name for my messengers that I do for the forums. MSN is a hotmail address.


You may want to check Windows Update for any possible updates to your browser. Personaly I prefer Firefox to IE but IE has always left a bad taste in my mouth. Too many security holes.

KK...i am downloading firefox with google package.....and yea...i have heard of microsoft doing stuff like that so they can get your password.....but its a little hard to belive with out any proof...and because i dont see why some one would risk loosing a muli-billion dollor copy for some passwords....but what type of "holes" do you mean??

Hmmm... i've noticed at this post that u sayid that windows xp with 446 mb RAM its not enough to run the windows itself + the game... well.. ill tell u something tomcat... my computer has 256 mb of RAM and I PLAY THE GAME PERFECTLY WITHOUT ANY ERRORS... so i think the problem isn't the RAM mbs... Sou_Sou u could try Ctrl+Alt+Del and finish the background aplications...

you could always open the control alt delete window and close any unneeded programs that start with windows they cause major lag if there is to many you shouldnt have more then id say 15 to 20 system related things running and the rest are allo non system things what ever you named your puter items can all be clsed as they dont need to be running since you have low ram it should help some and if your pon a dial up connection you should upgrade that aswell they cost about the same and idk 10 mb a sec versus 56kb a sec is a really big difference 1024kb in 1 mb if you dont know
