Testing a game is a lengthy and involved process. They are not yet into the stages where they want to test the server load. Right now what is being done is basic bug hunting. Text errors, pathing errors, AI errors, logistical errors, etc. In order to do this without completely overwhelming the servers/staff there needs to be a control in the population of the servers.
Outspark is not yet ready to procede to the stress portion of the test. When they ar, they will most likely go to an open beta stage.
It isn't about being unfair or stupid. It is about trying to get the game to its best quality before release.
