Master can appoint admin, recruit members, post a notice, ban people and call guild wars.
Admin can ban people, recruit, call a guild war, and post a notice.
I'm not sure what the others can do, but I believe the master and admin are the only ones with true power over a guild.

Pretty much as MissusDolly stated..... Admins have mostly same powers as Master..... I would guess Master has some additional option like 'disband guild' or something, I dont really know.... as for Council and Guard, I believe those titles have no special options..... they are just titles with no significance other than maybe what level you are. I'm not sure if it's the same with non-english versions of the game as I'm still relatively new myself and havent gone searching.
I am an admin in a guild and know I can post a notice, declare war and invite or ban people. I have also been guard and council in another guildm but I have no desire to start my own guild so can't really help with the 'Master' aspect. :-P
Anyways, hope your question is answered.

Well actually, the power that masters have that admins don't is that they're the only ones that can appoint new admins/council/guards
They can also transfer leadership of the guild to another guild mate, if they wanted to

Logically, Master can ban Admin but Admin can't ban Master. But the funny thing is as Admin, if you right-click on Master's name, there is the ban option...any Admins tried that to see if they can ban Master? :p

Yes Admins can do ban Master which is not nice! =_=
I have heard 1 has banned by his Admins and I have also read somewhere in the forum that he has banned from his own Guild where he spent 300s just to make it! Not nice Admins! =_=

I am a guard of my former guild (dunno how i got that position) but this position depends on how the GM would appoint you. But in fairness, a guard has no power on the guild, its just a title.
But in my opinion, its how you interact with the guild convo-box (how actively you answer a quest question or just simply having fun with your guild mates). If a guild member ask a question regarding a certain quest or area of monster spawn, i try to guide them to where the area is, although any member of the guild can answer it. Also, what precautions to take and who to take with (players of same level). Always, informs everyone that KQ is about to begin, which guild is going to war us, the place to grind, etc. But it doesnt mean that you will always be there virtualy.
hope this enlighten some of your questions:cool:
