I was wondering for some time if it's just me but it appears that the Templar thread is really the most inactive one.

Do Disciples really have nothing to talk about?
Or are there really so few Disciples out there?

I personally think there are quite a lot things we could discuss, like, how did you feel after the
class change? (Wasn't the best time for me)
Or, what do you think of the Disciples Skills (I still can't figure out what's the Shake Mind
is really good for)
Or even the simple rhetorical question what I've been asking myself all this time:
Are Disciples meant for soloing and if not, what good can they add to a party?

I kinda do not believe in this but... Disciples, activate yourself a bit? ^^'

Well... when I changed class I was very used to heal and since this is my first MMORPG it took me a while to get used to the new attacker role...

Also when I changed class I really have my doubts about it, although I wanted to be a templar since the very beggining, I realized that I enjoyed being a healer... but my wish to be templar prevailed.

hehehhe, about Shake Mind I dont find it very usefull, I even dont know very well what does it heal, I know it works with stunning (for example to clean a shield crash on pvp) but I think it doesnt work with arrest, didnt tried with evil voice or burning hands, but it seems it's a skill thought for pvp, any help would be appreciated on this o.O
Overall I enjoy being a Disciple, at first it was a bit hard and I dont have the cooler skills yet...
what else can I say?
Assist Heal rocks, everyone likes it :P
Time Shield, really usefull skill either to stun an enemy or to make it run away if u have 2 or more mobs on u
Eurosia, well... there r different points of view, mages seems to love it, in fact an app suggested that it should be an app skill >_> then I demand to have blazing for us xDDDD
Brace up and Protection r usefull, the typical self buff that all classes have ^^

I think that's all for now... lets see what the other Disciples & the only one templar have to say about ^^ or maybe Herepox is right and we r a silent class o.O

Adios!

Yes, El, you're the most active Disciple I know... :D
Way too active on the forums too... >.> aren't you an aco in disguise?

MarvHartigan
02-11-2008, 12:15 PM
hehe... an aco in disguise? mmm, who knows... but what a pair, huh? An aco in disguise and An aco with heart of a fighter... maybe we have an identity crisis o_O

I forgot about Burning hands, I cant use it yet, but I have partied with another Disciples capable of perform it, and I must admit it seems to be a very usefull skill, but I'm not used to it yet, so I usually mess it up hiting the "burning handed" mob, thus, releasing it from the stunning >_<

Still waiting for the others Disciples to show up, come on guys :D
*looks the clock*
*waits a bit more*
*looks the clock again*

Come on !!! :o xD

Adios!

Rather ask me about my change between Predictor and Disciple. ^_^'

Shake Mind is only for pvp, making it nearly useless outside spamming it in towns.
Some things got better in ob with this class(didn't have to buy gear and books this time).

This class is a toss up; a jack-of-all-trades if you want to solo or not. It gives something everywhere even if it won't prevail in any area.

AH will always be useful(which makes me question Saint Rising) no matter who. Fronters always has use for this exclusive skill.

Well, my first post as a Disciple! LOL! Well, what can i say! Oh yeah!
I'm agree with you about the Shake Mind skill, MarvHartigan. Not useful skill, only cure Curse and Stun harmful buff. Protection and Brace Up are really Good Buffs for a Disciple. Assist Heal really rock, example:when the enemy did 45 damages, you recover 50 HP with this skil. It's like, oh my god!
I'm invicible for 8 second against one enemy. LOL! Just kidding!!! Force Blast, my coolest skill for now. Time Shield, really cool skill but not long it's effect for now, hope to get LV 2 for this one. Eurosia, oh yes! The skill that i wait for the MP buff. I have only 135MP now, not long that my MP was depleted, but this skill will really help me at level 56, i'm sure of that. Burning Hands, this one too will be really useful at level 61. But wait when you will have the Chain Block skill at level 66, Xanthe tell me about this skill. This will be the most devastating and the most useful skill for the Disciple. I see his effect, but i can't tell you now. You must discover it by yourself.:D

Well, wow! For a first post, i think that a good work that i did! lol! Bye!

rofl xD

I'm agree with you about the Shake Mind skill, MarvHartigan. Not useful skill, only cure Curse and Stun harmful buff.
Does it cure curse? I tried it against a curse from a mob from mines (second floor) and didnt work, maybe the curse was too high for my lvl1 Shake Mind, but if it cures curse I'd said it's a usefull skill since no other skill can cure it.

Btw, I have a saint rising too :D (a gift from a friend) too bad I am 15 lvls away from learning it xD

A pity that the higher lvl Disciples havent answered yet >_>

Disciples are good for both soloing and partying; with the right materials of course ^^. They're designed to specialize as a support unit, nothing else.

Rather a jack-of-all-trades. No one works like this class at all. XD

A cookie to anyone who can prove that Neophytes, or any other class available that can help other classes with hp-recovery skill-wise besides the obvious. ^.^

OOh, I'm happy to see that Disciples do have something do discuss. :D
Well, although I think this class is great and it really is a jack-of-all-trades, i can't help
noticing that other classes are stronger than Disciples at the same level (well, except, maybe, Neos... they could be the same...and Acos, but they are healers, they have other functions)
It could be just me... abesides, everyone I know says that once you reach lvl 66 it gets easier... not sure about that one either but at one point i'll find it out myself, I guess...

The answer for this question is very very simple.

For all base classes, there will always be a considerable amount of newbies asking things and of all the people who became that particular class and have already reached a decent lvl and amount of knowledge about it, at least a few of them will be somewhat active on the forums and their class subforum to answer them.

On the case of the branch classes, there’re many more scouts than disciples for the sole reason that neophytes where the most popular class in the beginning of OB and may still be so. They’re also a lot easier to train than an acolyte and that also explains why there’re a lot of scouts who at lvl 45 still make rather stupid questions about the game, since by the time you reach lvl 45 you should pretty much know what to do with your char and there’re already quite a lot of treads around for most of the questions you may have.

It's one of the blows we have to take doing less damage and recieving more(providing that the other classes goes pure), then again it could be me being custom to the red mage in final fantasy tactics advance. ^_^' (Would have been somewhat fun if we had the paladin's "cover")

I can agree that more asks about builds on the Scout-forum, when it's pretty simple. Any idea how many Disciples (StriderHien discluded) do you all estimate we are currently?

Feel like comparing to CB:s around 30 Predictors at the end.

I can think of a few off the top of my head.

Myself, Bexy, Chun-Li, Super N00b, el22, huntly(hate him), anyone else posting in this thread, can't think of anymore.

Could be fun if we could gather as many disciples and Templars for a photoshooting. Like I tried to with Predictors before. T^T

Good idea, errrr... how should I call u? Drive maybe? cause this is templar's sub-forum :P
I have seen u around when I'm online and some others, we'll need some yellow eggs I guess...

Should we start a new thread with the list of Disciples / Templars / Holy Avengers (O_O)? I dont know if that's a good idea... maybe this thread is enough

Ah, what a nice idea... ^^ But hard to realize it because of the time differences...
Well, we don't have to get all of them together though...

And to add to the list, today i saw a disciple named EL1As (I'm not sure if I got the name right ^^')

no sadly I'm not yet templar:( but I'm so close I can taste it,i give it 2 weeks at the most, kinda depends how this weekend goes.As for the higher lvl moves like chain block and saint rising. Both are my favorite skills:D who doesn't like a AoE that raises your def as well combine that with a assist heal right before you stop and you can do it solo if you have big pots in case you get some lag. The big one Saint Rising depending on how you use it can be a weapon or a great get away. If you can during pvp get the other persons timing down like the cool down times of status affect and stun moves, use right before and watch them all miss or take 1-2 damage:D. As to get away, well I went to the pirate ship solo got to far in,realized I had 5%[not much but still it will haunt you at 95%] punched saint rising and ran out of there like a fat boy chasing a hot dog.

As for how a disciple is meant for and how they are meant to be played. I took it as you still came from a healing class a "support" class, so I made my disciple to just support the main tank while having a more active role on the front lines. If you want to go solo just pump every stat you got into POW and go for it,but your not going to last long in edine with out some HP to lose at around 350 all it takes it a hit then a crit and your done.My def is around 160 and I still take 80-100 damage per hit.So I have more HP than normal to help the aco out with heals.

Interesting, how about the damage output of this high sta build?

And could you give us a range of pow/sta for comparison or do you like keeping your build a secret?

Definatately a support unit. If you have a Disc AND an aco your party should be invincible. Assist Heal is the best skill ever made. Think about how sweet it would be at like lvl 120, if you never classed up to templar.
Too bad a lot of people see the pred class as a stop on the road to templar. i did at first too you know? but the more and more i play it the funner it gets. my only problem is how slow i go. I been on for so long and am almost like the lowest lvl disc here ;)

oh well.
