I'm going to have to limit my time on the computer because of all of it so I might be out for a while so send me an email if ya wanna talk.. gotta alot of stuff to do. Are any of u also having this problem as far as seperating game time and school work? does anyone have advice on how to limit game time? and my most important question ..can anyone help me in geometry here?O_O

Education should always come first! Which is why I end up doing most of my homework when I get home from classes. Then I takes breaks inbetween grinding hours (in which turn, I leave my game on for AFK selling while I do homework. =D).
Anywho.. Homework/Study first then the game. :3. And even when playing, Don't over do it! Try limiting yourself to around 3 hours a day. ^^

I've had this problem with many games before, which is why I've learned my lesson and kept my gaming to 3-5 hours a day. (Don't ask how much I did before >.<) Fortunately for me, Senior year of High School is such a blow off ^^

LOL you kids. I do understand tho. You just want to get like 7% more, then 3% then pretty soon you gotta go and nothing is finished that needed to be. Its evil. You gotta set yourself a time limit and then abide by it. Dscipline is the key here. You can do it!

Careful with how much time you play our games. As much as we love seeing everyone enjoy our games, there are always real life consequences when it comes to ANY activity being overdone. Our lives are constantly changing year to year, and our lives tend to become busier as time goes on. I remember during College I was able to spend entire days playing games... but things change and now it's down to only a few hours each night :(
Just remember you can always keep in touch with the community and pop in to say hi on the forums at any time, without having to log in and worry about spending too much time playing =) Good luck with taking care of all the necessary business you need to!

Cretz is right and so is everyone else. best thing to do is limit yourselves XD. also wen finals and midterms come along...always remember to study study study. and wen u feel like u can't take it anymore...try to remember that life will be that much sweeter with that B+ and A under ur belt. then wen skool is over u can grind till ur fingers fall off...lol

Yeah, thats right, I have read some few newspapers articles about this, and is no just the school, its also reflected in your health, anything you do in excess is an addiction, you always have to kkep taht in mind, dont want to say all the things I have read, cause there are a lot, but you have to do everythinh with disciple and limits, so be carefull with that....

Just make sure you do all of your school work first, no matter what it is, then the rest of the day is yours to do with as you please ^^ That also counts issues with friends, family, and anything else. How pissed would you be if your friend didn't wanna hang out with you because they wanna sit at home and play a game? xD Carpe diem! =D Seize the day!

The best advice i can give is put your heart where it belongs, simple yet very affective for me. hehe
Grinding and meeting with friends online should always come after study break, trust me this actually helps instead of harming you, so it is possible for game to be beneficial to your life if u know how to apply it right. :)

as for school...
i finish most of my homework in studyhall..or before games and sport practices..

as for school and game time... it's very easy. make sure you write down what you have to do for school each day. then make it a point to complete those tasks before you do any gaming. once your tasks are done... the rest of the time is yours to play!

I make it to a point to do good in school, so that my parents cant come up with any excuses of banning me from my gaming (strict asian parents ftl) I actually do better in school because I'm pressured to do so in order for me to grind as much as I want. [Or so I am trying to make my parents and myself think that way]
I'm doing the same technique as eri~ When I arrive at school.. I do most of my work there. Whenever I find myself doing nothing at school, I will grab my homework and study for my exams. So that when I come home [usually 7pm onwards] I can grind and play as long as I want. Actually its only for 2-3 hours max but I cant miss the precious 5-10% I get from those 2-3 hours :O! I have to sleep early so I can have enough energy to do schoolwork+lectures+homework the following day.
This semester is my last semester of my academic life coz I'm graduating with a pharmacy degree in april 2008. xD~ So I am trying to get good grades so I wont have any regrets! I manage to get top grades in some of my classes still despite the heavy grinding. So I believe you can do it too. Ahaha if there's a will, there's always a way.

Like i said before, if you know how to do it right, it is very possible to make good grades in school and have a lot of grinding time as well. My squire is level 59 and i'm acing all my classes including Physic II, Bio II, Socioly, and ummm except for a B+ in Anatomy. sry hehe Well, just create your own study techniques, and set a schedule for yourself, without it, well.....you know the consequences.:D

I feel your pain dude. I'm pushing myself through my Junior year of college and this game couldn't have come into my life at a worse time....its like watching a car wreck...you just have to keep looking at it. It haunts me while I'm in class and not playing lol. What kind of geometry are you needing help with? I suck a math as a whole, but there are a few topics I'm decent with.

Yeah, I have a rough schedule daily.
9-6: Work
6-7: Gym
7-9: Blah blah blah
9:12: SoS time.
In fact, someone told me the other day that it's funny that I have certain time set aside for SoS. But, I think keeping yourself on a schedule will really help maintain a legitimate focus in life.

I quit SoS after CB so that i could revise for my 1st year University Exams in Jan. I did just that and only just came back 3 days ago to SoS, i'm playing a lot now but every week I will play less and less and use more time on my education instead.
To me my education is most important ~ along with my social life ^^

I ran into that problem in grade 11. I just found that, gaming, working, homework, and social life are not possible together.
Luckily in grade 12, I was able to complete most, if not all my homework during spares. I always arived to school 1 hour early (my mommy works nearby lol) and I always left an hour later after school. Me and my friends would hang out after school. This left me with plenty of time to play games and work at home. Just not having to worry about homework when coming home is such a great feeling. It really gives you alot of free time. And you know what, I find you don't rush through it because you want to get more free time. If anything, this is a more healthy aproach to study.
But I wont rant about how broken the current education system is. I could go on for hours just talking about experiences, and how it would have made things so much easier. I say, find a balance, and keep it for as long as possible. I'm done school now, waiting for university. I think gaming is fun, but only if you have nothing else to worry about when you start. You can't be grinding to level x and thinking about that project you should be completing for next week. You have to really stop, and don't rush things, and only once everything is done you can start playing games.
Heck, if you can't get to school early, wake up an hour earlier everyday and finish homework, get in some extra study time before you hit the bus. Study on the bus. People say you shouldn't do homework on the bus, I disagree. I used to have about 30-45 minute bus rides in elementary school. What a waste of time not to be doing homework or something I say.

I was in that situation in college... First year I was doing ok... but then I got introduced to lan games... I got hooked, henced I got low grades, parents were disappointed and I felt like a total failure... I transfered school to get a fresh start but the addiction stuck to me... though I did better when I transfered, the gaming didn't stop... I've been thru the ups and downs on gaming.... Right now I am working at one of the biggest organizations in the world... But not everyone can be as fortunate as to what happened to me... Right now I have plenty of time to play since I am basically home and work (though i go out Friday and Saturday nights on occasion)... I am enjoying what I have been doing all my life (gaming)... but don't be in the situation where I was... It sounds good now because I was lucky... But then, I felt like a total failure...
Though its a cliche, experience can be the best yet most painful teacher...

It's a cliche that will NEVER get old.
I work morning to evening monday through friday, am in a serious relationship, and am soon going to have to pay for a mortgage...
Despite all that I put as many hours into SoS as I feel necessary, though I wish I could play as much as I want. (sleep is for the dead! FTW)
Responsibilities first, then leisure.

well, all of that is true, you always had to have your priorities. You can play when you have finish all the importants things for you..., Im in my 5 semester of university though, and alwys the studies are first, I also practice soccer, but I got badly injured.. hahaha, so Im staying in home a lot now and I started to play Sos again well to time to time, cause I got RO too hahaha, I will be like 2 months without playing soccer and that sucks, I cant stay too much sitted in a chair or in the bed, cause I feel the need to do something else, thats why the mx. hours I play are 3 or 4 and thats a lot hahaha, Im in this condition and try to keep up with my abs and 1 hour walks hahahaha, but what Im trying to say is that everyone in here have their own lyfestyles, and of course you can do whatever you think is better for you, but always keep in mind that everything you do to your body it will be seen in a long period, meaning that your health are falling always try to do some daily exercises, and also think what do you really want in your life..., best regards to this awesome comunity, chau

I used to play sos a LOT when I joined CB (think I played maybe 6+ hours a week)...but then after I saw that my grades in my first quarter of college SUCKED (the evil glares of disappointment from my parents and oldest sis didn't help either <_<;; ), I gradually played less...I stopped playing for now but even when I do log on (haven't done that for quite a while though), I only stay for 10 or 15 mins, then I go back to doing homework...
...I will go back to playing....once I get my grades up >.<....

What I suggest is to try to control yourself a little bit and it'll work out.
