Giant HoneyWing met his demise today at the 9:00 PM EST KQ. Congratulations to everyone that participated and thank you so much ^_^. Screen Shots are posted below including what I won as my prize for the KQ....

Unlike current myth that a successful KQ needs to be mostly mages and archers in this one there were 3 Fighters, 4 Mages, and 3 Clerics. The participants were:

Fighters:

Eldryst
Kamahli
LadyWashj

Mages:

boomz
mage108
___Sin___
soitre

Clerics:

Hoshihara
PsychoCeramic
Rand_Al_Thor

How on earth did you do it? Did you do something other than the tried and always fails gather stuff and AoE the heck out of it? Never had more than 2 mages in one but I don't see how that could make so much of a difference... please post details! A friend and I want to win this once before we level out of it.

I can say tat the ptys were planned outside the KQ. Simple plain aoe to the top(get a reliable tank/cleric^^), with lots of deva/mob and everyone simply doing their jobs. And more mages means it can replace archers, as a friend said.

Actually only 6 ppl were picked ahead of time: Kamahli (lvl 50 fighter and tank extraordinaire), Rand_Al_Thor (lvl 44 cleric and healing machine), boomz (lvl 48 mage who *REALLY* lives up to his name), __Sin__ (lvl 46 mage and impressive with aoe), soitre (lvl 47 mage and wild, reckless mage when needed), and me (PsychoCeramic, lvl 48 cleric that has the tendency to be a lemming). Soitre ended up in the second party so that there were two clerics keeping an eye on Kamahil which was necessary since *ANY* time your tank falls you will lose about 2 minutes. It is of absolute importance that you can trust your tank to gather agro and keep it, otherwise the mages can not safely aoe and the clerics spend all their time trying vainly to heal and rez all around them while they gather agro from doing so. I met Kamahil in the honeywing KQ when he was lvl 44 and I was about lvl 46 (he really trains hard and I am quite slow ;)) and in the 20+ times we have done this kq quest together he has regularly gotten the teams up to the top more than half the time which is quite impressive.

All in all though you have to be able to trust everyone to do their job in one of the most chaotic situations possible. Our time was so good because we had not one excellent tanker, but three and the three worked together and not against each other. The mages were protected and allowed to do as much damage as they could against the monsters. The clerics made sure everyone was healed as much as possible and that the other clerics were healed as well (its easy to overlook one's health in the heat of battle) all rezzing was done quickly and another cleric was protecting the rezzing cleric.

I dont know if this will help or not :)

To go a step further on what Psy said:
"All in all though you have to be able to trust everyone to do their job"
"(its easy to overlook one's health in the heat of battle)"

This is not only true, but should be factored in. What I mean...

During our quest last night toward the win, there were a couple of incindents where 1 or 2 stray mobs got away from the main crowd. Personally, I never stopped healing my tank, my mages, or the other cleric to heal myself. I used q and 0 (hp stone and pots) until someone could draw the hitters off of me.

This is what she means by trust in your party. I had absolute faith that someone would recognize damage being done to their loveable heal bot (heheh) and rescue me. I never doubted it for a second. This allowed me to heal who needed healing, and contribute my small part to this epic milestone.

Main thing is, don't panic and run, stay with your plan, trust your party. I would suggest grinding together for a while before you hit the KQ. You have to know each others strengths...and weaknesses.

Good luck!

To our team: WOOO HOOOOO We did It...FINALLY!

Wow. Proves that it can be done, though just very difficult. I was in one that reached the top just an hour or so ago, and managed to see the giant honeying for like... a minute or so. We have two mages, one being me and another is a lv 49 powerhouse. Psy is right, trust in your fighters and clerics is very important. Luckily I have two close acquaintance in my party. :D Even though we didn't win it, it was so fun. I totally enjoyed it.

imma wild and crazy mage.......lol........anyway just the fact that we won will is all that matters...forget the treasure(or lack of)...but the single most important thing i think helped us win was not only trust in e/o....but the fact that all 10 of us acted as one huge party...not seperate.....lol ;) and i like to thank my party.....cause with out them it wouldn't have been possible.....oh yeah and psy...kama...rand...boomz...sin....but u guys left me out :p no thx for you....WE DID IT OMG OMG OMG
ps i need a sig if any of u could help

It was before perfect stones and stuff so all our weapons sucked, it should be much easier now.
