I downloaded the game, (I have an invite) and installed it. Then ran the launcher and it says it's Configuration is wrong. Says to re-install it and it should fix it.

*I did.

Nothing.

How do I fix this problem.*

Alright.

I have tried again, to reinstall. Nothing. I removed the game from my computer completly, restarted, reinstalled. Still nothing. Still the same thing.

It can't start because the Application Configuration is incorrect.

Please, someone give me some help, without asking how to get an invite.

Hi Jace-Marian,

Please check a few things about your system and post back. Go to Start>Run>type dxdiag>hit OK.

Look on System Tab for:

Operating System

Processor

Memory

Page File

DirectX version

Check the Display Tab for:

Device Name

Driver version (6.14.xxxx.xxxx)

And - Were you in CB1?

Also - What is the exact error that you get, and where/when does it occur? (ex: you try to start the Launcher and you get an Outspark error that tells you "Application Configuration is Incorrect")

Standard Advice - make sure _all_ unnecessary applications are shut down when you try to install/run the game.

Lastly, when you tried to reinstall, did you re-download a fresh copy of the client?

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3400+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.4GHz

Memory: 1024MB RAM

Page File: 392MB used, 1299MB available

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

I wasn't in the first one. I got the invite for the second.

It occurs when I double click the launcher on the desktop. Also in the menu bar, and it's folder.

And yes, I downloaded a fresh copy when I did the reinstall.

EDIT: Forgot the driver.

Device Name: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500

Version: 6.14.0010.9371

For the error that you get, does it appear in an Outspark Window, a Windows message, or...?

And all it says is "Application Configuration is incorrect"?

Well, the video driver you have installed is not the current version for the FX series, and is in fact about 9 months old.

A first step would be to update to the current version (which came out on July 26th) and see if it corrects the issue.

You can download the new version from here:

Nvidia ("http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html")

Also, when installing new video drivers you should always follow the manufacturers instructions. Please read through the instructions for installing new video drivers before attempting to update them, if you are unsure as to how to do it.

Nvidia's driver installation instructions are as follows:

http://www.nvidia.com/docs/IO/10274/img10274.gif

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="512">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td><font class="header">Driver Installation Hints</font>

</td>
</tr>
<tr valign="top">
<td class="text">
<ul>
"Download Accelerator" utilities should be disabled when downloading any drivers.
Do not run virus protection software in the background while
installing the drivers. This prevents the driver from configuring
itself properly.
Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA
display drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start
Menu > Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for
"NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select
remove.
[/list]
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>

After updating, you will be prompted to restart the system. When it reboots, make sure all other applications are shut down and then try Fiesta again. If you get the exact same problem, I would advise uninstalling Fiesta, restarting one more time, reinstalling and trying it again.

Please let us know how it goes.

[edit] One last thing, just because this has appeared to cause install issues for a couple of other members. Check that the Launcher is not set to run in Compatibility Mode for soem reason...right-click the Launcher>Properties>make sure that compatibility mode is not active.

I downloading the driver now. It's almost done.

And the launcher is not in compatibility mode.

Let you know what happens.

OK, great.

We are trying to think of anything else that could cause the problem, but so far you appear to be the only person to report this particular error.

Ah crap.

Still the same thing. :/

Did everything you said to do, exactly.

Still the same error.

Alright, sorry to hear it's still a no go...we are going to try some other things here to see if we can in any way duplicate what you are getting, but this will probably have to wait on our end until tomorrow.

Thanks for your patience, and hopefully we will have some other ideas as to what would cause this for you.

Alright. That's cool.

At least I'm helping with another problem.

Jace, when you reinstalled Fiesta did you first uninstall it?

Did you make sure and delete the Fiesta folder and then restart before reistalling?

The reason I ask is that most times there are files left behind after an uninstall. These typicaly are config files and the like.

Like I said before. I uninstalled it completly. Everything gone, folder and all.

Sorry if I stepped on your toes there Jace but I find it common for some folks to assume that windows add/remove programs gets rid of it all.

Jace-Marian

Yeah. That's alright.

If I was helping someone, I'd have them list everything they have done, haven't done, etc... to fully understand the situation.

Ill try to help..

Ok, Jace... your computer might have some viruses or spywares. Make sure your computer is clean, cause when*I had a virus it corrupted any files that I download.

If you do not have an anti virus, well you can get a free ones that I recommend:

AntiVir or Adaware simply search these on google.

For an online scan for free go to google and search for "Free online scanner" look for the adress "housecall.trendmicro.com/"

or go to this link http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ ("http://housecall.trendmicro.com/")

If your computer is clean, and you have a firewall. You could try turning it off first, then re-install Fiesta.

Warning turning off your firewall is dangerous, do it at your own risk.

Well hope that helps.

I am also getting this problem and I'm using XP.
It's frustrating for a game to have so many bugs and problems...
I also uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but the stupid error keeps on happening.

If it cant be fixed, might as well just forget about the broken game.
