Xtrap caused a seroius error that rebooted my computer! REMOVE IT!

This is the error report i sent to microsoft:



i was playing an Online Program-based Game called Fiesta. www.outspark.com

They installed a patch that made a program called Xtrap.xt appear in the

proccesses list. (it is a game security program) My Mouse's third and fourth

buttons stopped working (the ones on my scroller and the one on the left

side of the mouse.) (i have a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse

4000) then when i attempted to end the process it said "Access denied" and

then when i closed the program my computer rebooted. I am not angry at them,

i just want them to get rid of Xtrap.

All I see is the Fiesta Website in the background of this error show in picture 1.

There is not additional information shown in either picture regarding it being related to X-trap or Fiesta. Do you have any additional pictures by chance showing more detail?

the proof is that EVERYONE ELSE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM!
i myself dont need proof. im just saying what happened.

I dont just go around providing ppl w/ false information on a website not related to my problem.
im showing you what i did, and telling outspark to remove Xtrap.xt from MY processes list!

Im saying that if you want more proof, look @ the other threads!

Here's a screen of me having to use Demorilizing Hit manually. the "Must Select Target" means that instead of pressing Shift+Num3, it pressed Num3 instead. (which was assigned to Slice'N'Dice.)

I believe X-Trap only actively works while you are running Fiesta. And from the screenshots, you are only accessing the Outspark site. (Though someone correct me if I'm wrong if X-trap runs in the background with the game open or not.)
And nothing on your error reports said anything about the program.
Just because others are having problems with X-Trap doesn't mean that you are. This could be something completely unrelated.
We are not saying you are posting false reports, so just calm down. Freaking out will not get you anywhere. Browse through the forums and see if you can find a troubleshooting solution to your problem, or see if any others share the same exact problem as you.
Hopefully someone will be able to explain what your problem is and help you out.

And a lot of peoples problems with X-trap are caused by trying to play on an account that isn't and Admin on the computer. Since most people who play are younger, they most likely use shared computers, with parental controls implimented on them.
And of course there are some other issues that cause it, but my brain hurts right now and I can't think T_T

I'm hav a diff problem i cant logg on and my mouse freezes, but a red X appeared on the bottom of my screen and i put my mouse on it before it froze and it said XTrap so i cant log on...How long does it take for it to go away?

Now i realize it is preventing my mouse from using its 3rd and fourth buttons because it is not regular mouse input. I got used to using my "right thumb button" for accessing the second row of my hotkeys, because, as being a fighter, there are numerous buttons i have to press.
Now, because of Xtrap, i cant use the button i got used to. This will SEROUSLY complicate things and get me PISSED.
There is nothing wrong by doing this (my case is no doubt) and like another post

If something can't at least be done to help these players to play the game than X-Trap should be removed again. I know I will not be playing the game as long as X-Trap remains.

Also many people have stated that they would rather have this program running than have hackers and crackers in the game. Others have stated that it doesn't actually lessen hackers or crackers and that X-Trap is easy to get around. I'm not sure what the truth really is about X-Trap. I have seen it cause huge memory spikes and lag on my friends' PCs, but what is it actually there for other than that?

I am playing on account that is Admin(i am 33 years old).Have 2G RAM,3Ghz Pentium4,XP(32bit)windows.
Using Firefox while playing Fiesta(is that third party program?).
Since X-trap was installed I am able to play for a few min. and then my windows crushes - so i am not able to post any screenshot.
Before, I was playing this great game for a month without any lags.
So , is there any way for me and other with this problem to play Fiesta again?

A while ago when this was used before, some people had found a solution so you were able to play or fix it, but you'll have to search throughout the forums for that.

Also, X-Trap was created to shut off certain background programs to be used while playing the game so if somehow your keyboard or mouse might have additional features, tehy might have been blocked off.

ye i have the same problem im playin fiesta wen the error comes up and restarts my computer and its relli startin to bug me and its to do with the X-Trap i no its to stop bots but it can gt relli annoying

All I can say is this:

GM's, GET RID OF XTRAP.

This program does absolutely jack to stop botters and hackers because it's too damn easy to get around. And I know this from experience because Scions of Fate uses it and that game is DEAD from all of the security issues it's caused! Nearly the entire high-level society was hacked and all of the gear stolen, including high-damage weapons, pets and clothes which by the way are ALL item mall gear and you have to pay REAL money for.

It causes lag and all it really achieves is stopping half the actual players from playing at all while slowing the botters and hackers down for all of ten minutes.

XTrap is not a magic go-away button to solve all your damn problems. If you want to get rid of botters then program in a report function that takes a screen cap and reports it because a program that refuses to work unless you COMPLETELY DISABLE your firewall is more trouble than it's worth.

And you want to know WHY I'm so damn pissed off? I lost money from Scions because MY account was one hacked thanks to f*cking XTrap, I come to this game, spend money on it and hey look! Now you're being morons too! So I'll tell you what. Get rid of the stupid goddamn sign advertising HACKERS COME HERE! WE HAVE SECURITY ISSUES WE'RE TRYING TO HIDE! because if you don't me and a buttload of other pissed off players are going to go play something else and you're not gonna see another goddamned red cent.

wow... so there is ppl having the same problem with me...
well i dont have any prove to say this is cause by x trap but...

1. i didnt install/download/use cd,disket,etc recently
2. my computer just format
3. my computer also quite new, 6 months only
4. this problem occur when last time x trap implement to fiesta... and now( outspark put back x trap)
5. I have use my antivurus software(kapersky anti-virus updated) scan my computer and didnt found any virus.

But... when i dc from fiesta it will have chance( not everytime but mostly) reboot my computer.

and after sending the error report to microsoft i have the same reply as Kirby2Mirrors. reason : "recently installed program (x trap) or recently installed hardware(none) ware cause this problem pls re-install the soft/hardware or contact ur distributor"

no offense... but for sure when kirby sent he isnt using fiesta...
cause fiesta dc -> pc reboot -> after reboot a "window encounter a serious problem" window pop out -> sent the error report to microsoft ...
so the whole process wont involve opening fiesta^^

When i log on its starts to load but then in about 3 seconds some weird window pops up saying things in a Chinese and Japanese characters, then when i look at my lower right toolbar there is a red X so i put my mouse over it and it says ''X-TRAP (Game security)''
Its so annoying! Ever since Outspark added the X-trap it has not been working, OMG I just wanna kill it! Stupid X-trap, And i looked on the internet about how to remove thee X-trap, well unfortunately it said that you need to contact the Outspark staff about this problem and to remove the security system. >.< yuck I need a better solution, because it doesn't look like Outspark is going to remove that security system...

they wont get rid of xtrap well i dont think they will as some of the other Fiesta games have xtrap not only this one

X-Trap is not doing much else than blocking all the programs that are running except Fiesta. If you have problems entering Fiesta ever since X-Trap was added you should try shutting down all your other non-needed processes. Like for example the mouse driver for more than two mouse keys that was mentioned earlier. Just shut is all down. These are programs that can be abused by persons to bot / hack, that's why they are blocked.

Although I've not had any serious trouble with it I do agree that X-Trap is extremely problematic. I believe it's X-Trap that causes Comodo Firewall to go a bit nuts when I play Fiesta, to the point that I have to disable it to play.

WoW's Warden can run as non-admin, why not X-trap? There's the difference between a huge pay to play and a tiny f2p: they can afford to do things right.

Yeah, my machine rebooted twice yesterday while in Fiesta.
I didn't think about the possibility of it being xtrap and I am still not sure if that is what it was.
A while back there was a hacker that had a character that could / would cause that to happen and both times it happened to me I was in Elderine.

It makes me wonder if he may be back O__O

In addition to that I noticed an effect that will occasionally take control of my character and drag it off of the map.

Very strange.
