View Full Version : What should I do for a build?

Howdy, this is my first topic.

Aren't you privileged? :p

Anyway, I just want to say before anybody yells at me that this has "already been mentioned before in other topics" and to "search the forums". That I used the search feature and couldnt find out exactly what I needed to know.

I've been a Moderator on many corporate sites (Interact, Action Replay, MadCats and even on one of Blings forums, just to name a few) and I searched this forum before making this topic. I did find a lot of small topics with various small tidbits but I wanted to make sure of this before I changed over to Disciple.

I am only .51% from switching over and I want to know the best build to go with so I don't mess up the stats for this character.

I want to know what I should do with the stats. I'm new to them and I know just about everyone says to go with a POW/STA build. but I can't find out exactly what the numbers should be for just a lowly 45 Disciple.

I mean this, should I just go with a full POW stat at first and then every 2 or 3 lvls add to STA or should I put most into POW and some into STA at the start?

This is confusing to me because I've not had to do anything really with Stats since all I've been is an Aco and everything has gone into INT so far with only a couple for the equip.

To put it bluntly, I don't have a clue as to what all the stats do really. I know the basics but I can't find s topic that flat out says it, just multiple topics with tidbits thrown in now and then.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and with luck I should make it to Disciple by the end of today or tomorrow. :p

I have to go to work right now but I'll check back when I get home and if I can think of anything else to add as far as questions I'll add them to this topic.

Thanx Mucho,
Barber

Well... u looked for ur topic, but did u read them all?

if u did, u would know that the best thing to start is full pow till lvl51... the u can choose ur build, and the recommended rate for a pow/sta build is also posted around this forum, and should be like 2pow/1sta... but thaa's just a recommendation, u can add more pow if u feel urself weak or more sta if u feel u need more endurance...

I also recommend this topic for u:

Adios!

Just go with what seems fun!

Seriously, what point is there in trying to create "The ultminate charecter of DOOM!!!" if you have no fun with it, and are playing by a pre-programmed set of data that someone thinks is the best?

I play Fiesta, not SoS really, but I put some stat points into "useless" parts that would "ruin" me.

I'm having a blast!

Seriously, go with what you want.

Uh, you don't. Any fronter who puts points into INT really needs to ask why they do that. No benefit at all.^_^'

INT is reserved for Acolyte, Cleric, Priest, Paladin(?), Apprentice, Mage, Wizard and Archmage.

No other class can use INT for anything, but these classes can still use all other stats in some fashion.

What I did, was that I got my STAM to 5, and the rest POW and you should be set. :D

Adios!

I did read most of them, and like I said most of the stuff was little tidbits thrown around in multiple topics but didnt really answer what I was wanting to know...when you have multiple topics with multiple thoughts and discussions it's hard to decide the best course of action to take. I thought it would be better to ask just exactly what I needed to know without having to decipher the answer from other topics that may or may not be dealing with what I need to know.

I value your opinion and say thanks for your thoughts and I will take your suggestions and decide what to do as I feel that I need it. It sounds like you know what you're talking about. :)

Thnx Mucho

Having fun is the whole point of the game and anything that makes it better is great with me, but, like was said, I don't see the point in wasting points when they could be of better use somewhere else that will could be used to a better advantage.

You sound like my type of guy or girl as the case my be :p

-Sigh-

Follow my guide to learn the basics.

The only builds with succcess you can pull off are Pure POW/POW +MEN+STA/ and the Jellocake build, POW+STA.

Mind, if you are looking "insert one sta every 7th level or so", it depends on your style and where you level. ANy maps you can fight until the mid 50's only requires pow. Heck, you can go pow until level 70+ if you want. Some Disciples does that. The only thing is you need to be able to handle the class as long as you focus on POW. The way to achieve more power for damage.

Strider's a guy.

Thanks again for the info. It is very much appreciated.

:why the sigh?: I did nothing but praise you for answering my question. No reason to sigh at all :)

lol I figured he was a guy but thats not always the case with certain names, I was just kidding around ;)

Besides, everyone knows there are no women on the net :p

I have only typed that build for this class and so many other classes so many times, it feels heavy repeating myself. ^_^'

(Still the SoS=RO weighs more and should be canned in some jar and locked in the same magasine they used in Indiana Jones..)

I guess you're right. I didnt mean to make you do a lot of work. What I do when I work on the forums is keep a copy of the import things that people keep asking in a notepad document on my desktop then all I have to do is copy and paste the answers in the right spot and it doesnt get so tedious and repetitious.

Again sorry I asked this but I couldnt find the right answers on my own after using the search function and you guys were a great help to me.

I do appreciate it very much and say thank you again.

I did make it tonight, like I thought I would and everything seems fine so far once I learn to use the stuff in the right places and at the right time. ;)

Again,
Thx Mucho

Sorry for the bumping up of this but I've got a quick question for Strider..

I'm now up to lvl 61 and I've put everything in POW except for my STA is 5... but here's my question...

Did you mean that you add 5 to STA or that you just got it up to 5 like mine is now? Just needed a little clarification :)

I was thinking of adding a couple to Men, just because I've noticed a couple times when I have a MISS streak going on, like maybe 2 in a row...would adding to MEN help this out or is it just part of the game to get a couple misses every now and then. :p

I'd only do this with my bonus points when the time comes maybe lvl 65.

You the man Strider you should now this one :D

Edit:: Nevermind...I just read Striders topic and it answered my question about the STA issue

But I still am thinking of the Men just to take care of some of the misses...would adding to that help that problem out?
