It's Pangah, and they are located in Death Valley, several maps after going West in the Brynhild Trisects.
Are they the mushrooms? And are there some actually labeled cubs?

They are the squeaky little orange mushrooms in Death Valley.
Now called Pangya in OB.

i believe there are also some on the map west of essene.. ^__^

They are the orange mushrooms, that squeak and hop around. You can find them all over, usually within 3-4 maps out of any city.
Not the pink ones; those are Funk.
