View Full Version : Best classes for a 2 person group?

My wife and I started playing together and are interested in questing together without really joining a guild or a group for now.

What would be the best classes to branch to if we're questing with just the two of us?

The reason I ask is because my wife switched to the priest/cleric line last night, she's been leveling alone since I haven't had the chance to play more than 15-20 minutes yet (only installed last night), and after the class change her stats got nerfed and she couldn't beat even easy monsters by herself anymore, so now she's starting a new character just in case.

Are there two classes that complement each other well as a team, or do you need to form a big multi-class group to really enjoy?

Ive had a lot of luck with acolyte and scout duos. Scout is the Neophyte class at lvl 45.
pretty much acolyte with anything. aco n apprentice match is a little harder, cause you kinda want a tank, but an aco and neo team is usually pretty good. Plus you can class both up to some fun classes at lvl 45.

healer/melee
healer/apprentice
melee/melee

generally thats the choices i'd have for doing just a constant duo... personally i'd do acolyte/neophyte then go disciple and scout when you got to 45

First here a link to a class tree in the forum:

http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46354&highlight=class+tree

Second if you look completly to the right you have the name of the class path, ex : the Squire/Knight/Warrior/Warlord is the path of the fighter.

For a good duo combo i would advise one character in the Acolyte path (dont forget that a path of healer/buffer, normaly in a group the one playing that character will buff and heal but not attack or if he/she does it will be quite rare unless you are "farming" drop from low lvl monster) and i would advise the second character to be a melee combattant by taking the path of fighter or rouge(it should be rogue there,it is a typo) or templar.

my aco friend (lvl58) and I (lvl62) usually duo in Rud or close to it and we work great imo
illusion quake + bind = awesome

yeah the best party is:
Aco:Neo/Rouge
Aco:Squire
Aco:Scout

not much point having two melees coz u both losing HP with no healer so both be sitting.

not much point having aco:aprentice coz mage use mp anyway

Are you talking about the lvl 16 class change and do you mean she became an acolyte? Because if you are she should be able to kill the same monster she was killing before but she cant just go in melee with them she need to kill them while kiting them with the spell illusion quake. If that is the case and you and her dont know what kiting a monster mean, here is a short resume: you attack the monster from a distance, then back away, attack again, back away, attack again, back away and so on, until the monster is dead and ofcourse you cant let the monster reach you to attack you in melee you must stay out of their reach. The only real problem with that is when you encounter a monster with ranged attack then your acolyte is "screwed" you will only be able to kill monster way below your lvl if they have ranged attack and it wont really be worth it.
Another thing about acolyte, if you cant use illusion quake to attack, it is pointless to attack, just run away.

I made some good experiences with neo/neo,
aco/neo
Scout/neo

but aco, again, goes well with everything.

Well i have good experiences with squire/discible duo.

Go aco first and then change to discible at lvl45. you can use assist heal and dmg the mobs as well

I could also think of a discible/discible duo but kinda hard to get to lvl45 in the first way.

Aco goes with pretty much everything as mentioned before.

Yeah, actually we were still learning the skills, once she used the skillbook to learn illusion quake it was fine.

so let me get this right, your wife was using her aco to melee monsters?thats the problem right there, acos and apprentices have VERY low melee damage.they should never melee.she should just stick with just using illusion quake to attack(its the aco's main attack skill for a very long time)

heres some advice:
a duo of a healer and a melee class is a the best option.
when you learn all skills that fit your lvl,for example your wife's aco should have the illusion quake and minor heal skill book already.every class gets 2 skills when you change to a job.
train at a area you both can handle together.
protecting your healer always come first.
