Now, it's known the in Fiesta and SoS there are a few bugs that maybe a few of us have gotten. Yes, our computers may shut off at random times, and x-trap issues seem to pop up sometimes. Now, while some people's responses, like my own, tend to be usually nonviolent, others seem to just burst out with anger at the first person they see. They go out and spam 8 threads on the forums about their problems, and submit multiple tickets that take the CSR's a few extra hours of work to go through. Joy. Now, here are the steps that you can, and should take, to help you get over your problem.
Step 1. Relax
Just take a seat and squeeze the heck out of a teddy bear. Squeeze until you can think rationally again, and don't even think of touching the keyboard until you can.
Step 2. Think
Think about the problem. Think what went wrong, and what steps you can take to fix it without having to ask first. See if it's solvable, if not, proceed.
Step 2.5 Check forums
Check the forums to see if 100 other threads about the same problem have been made.
Step 3. Making the Post
First of all, make sure you're posting in the Troubleshooting section. Second of all, try to include as much information as possible, along with pictures if you can.
Step 4. PM the GMs
Send them a link to your thread so they can look over it as well as the community.
Step 5. Wait it out
Don't wait 5 minutes then copy and paste your thread into 11 different sections. Don't send a GM a copy of your letter once every 10 minutes. Wait for maybe an hour, go watch TV, then come back and check your messages. Don't make posts saying how bad the GMs are because they haven't responded yet. Just chillax.
Step 6. Directions
Follow the GMs or CSRs or CLs directions, don't whine and complain that "isn't there an easier way?" because that just doesnt help.
Step 7. Enjoy
Enjoy playing them game until the next bug/glitch pops up.
EXAMPLE OF A PERSON WHO FIXED A PROBLEM CALMLY
A while back I had bad XTrap problems. I didnt squeeze no teddy cos I am an animal lover BUT I did decide to do a check on my computer. The thing that smacked me in the face was how corrupt my system was when I did a defrag. I use XP and the base colour of a defrag should be mainly blue with a few little red lines here and there. BUT with the XTrap errors it was the reverse, ALL red with a few blue lines. This showed that something had got corrupted on my system.
I wasnt sure what so first I went to Add/Remove programs and deleted fiesta.
Then a complete system cleanup and removed all fiesta and outspark files through START, SEARCH.
Then START, CONTROL PANEL, INTERNET and deleted all cookies and temp files. Yeah I know DISK CLEANUP should do it, but, often we have more than one user on the pc, ie: Administrator, Default etc
Did a DISK CLEANUP and DEFRAG.
Downloaded and installed a clean version of Fiesta.
DEFRAG
Haven't had a problem since.
I HOPE THIS HELPS OUT THE COMMUNITY!!!!!!!!!!
AND THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS WILL HOPEFULLY BE REDUCED!!!
MADE BY ME, MYSELF, AND I!!!!!!!! +REP TO ALL 3!!!

Yah between steps 2 and 3 should be what smitske suggested. If you can't find such via a search then do the posting in Troubleshooting. :3

nice post :-) technically, searching for a solution would be part of his step 2 :D

Instead of posting a thread, you could use the search engine, see if you can find a thread that has the same problem and see if you can get some self help. Or ask a friend/guildie.

I have no problem in waiting and relax before I restart the game again but it is really bug me when im in the middle of KQ and the freaking XFrap kicks me out and doesnt even let me log in again, which I have to restart my stupid computer, log back in and pray God that the XFrap doesnt pop up again!

That happened to me with my old comp (ha look at me, not even a day with a new comp and calling my other old :p) it would kick me during a Kingdom quest and I would pray everyone wasn't too far ahead of me >_<
But so far last night, 2 hours on and not 1 x-trap, when I usually would have gotten 4 or 5 by then

i have also found that my PC and laptop shut off for some reason and i found out WHY....your computer gets too hot and needs better cooling..if you open the task manager you will see that fiesta takes 99% processor and that heats it up really fast...so what i do is i take off the sides to my PC and have a fan on my laptop and they never shut off anymore.
try this to see if it works for you..also check your power supply to see if it is getting AIR...clean the little holes on the sides(yes they are there for a reason and not to look cool)..take a paint brush (new, unused) and act like your "painting" the power supply to knock off the dust (this is better done OUTSIDE so mom doesnt get on your case and so the dust will not clog the holes faster).

Yeah, restarting the computer every 3 hours does help the game lag less when you log back in.

maybe you should take it in for repairs?
Impulse-Dave
03-19-2008, 01:31 PM
No, I dont think he needs to take it in for repair, because he's not the only one with this problem. I think what the problem is, is actually X-Trap.
While its gotten a lot better with its compatibility and we don't hear many people complaining anymore about it... It's still accessing the memory of your computer at the same time as everything else thats running while you have Fiesta running. And if two programs go for the same bit or byte of data in memory, there's gonna be errors and it's gonna crash the computer.
zues8844
03-19-2008, 01:34 PM
Well, yeah, that makes a difference. If it's X-Trap, then the computer doesn't need repairs, X-Trap just needs to be removed.

Lap Tops yes, also ram clear buy doing the same.
Defag Often (twice a week recommended)
Up-date drivers (monthly) then re-intall dirX driver(s).

Okay... so where is all that? I noticed my laptop gets hot... but I don't really know what to do about it...

That's not that bad a thing, it's just overheating. Overheating may lead to problems, but if it hasn't yet, don't worry about it.

Choking the stuffing out of a teddy bear tends to help, but I suppose we all have our own ways of doing things.
