View Full Version : Give the Aco's some love!

Yes, the title is strange, but another thread had me thinking...
I've known a lot of Aco's in my day and a lot of them complain about the fighters screaming at them for "allowing" them to die. I've been in parties where group leaders berate their poor Aco's for dying themselves or letting others die.
I don't understand why! Can someone explain this to me? Sure, the occational Aco get's distracted. Can we not say the same for the fighters?
It just seems the poor Aco's are often mistreated. Darn ya'll for screaming at them! I can't imagine being an Aco. XD I'm all for the blood shedding. Props to the Aco's!!
I want to rant about something other than the server!

There was a thread last month about this with almost the same exact title.
Boring~
You can rant all you want but people will still take Acos for granted. It's just how most people are sadly. :/

Nero, don't be such a poopy head ._.
Threads like this may be pointless in the fact that no one will EVER treat acos the way they SHOULD be treated, but at least it does make us acos feel better <33

In that case create one general thread about it not make several threads about the same thing ~_~

*sniff* It's nice to know that at least SOMEONE cares... I've been lucky and only been in two parties where I got yelled at because people died, and in both cases it was their own fault.
The first: The girl needed to be healed, but we were in a red zone. I was going to die if I left, so I told her to wait until her hp regenerated itself, and she didn't. Instead she ran out towards the monsters, and I couldn't run after her fast enough to heal.
The second: I was the only aco in a group that had maxed out on party members, and everyone spread way far out on the map instead of staying close enough for me to reach everyone. I ended up trying to run back and forth to help everyone, but I could only go so fast.
Otherwise, I've been in groups where people die and they realize why they died, and they think it sucked, but they don't get upset. Those are the people I like the best.

Yep, acos get a lot of pressure with the whole dying thing. People should cut them some slack.

Thursday March 13, 2008 should be "acolyte strike day" no acolyte shall heal or buff ANYONE... let's see how fast ppl lvl then, without acolytes healing fighters would actually have to pay for pots or actually sit to regain health, oh the horror

well if they died....its there own darn fault...ppl can be really umm...unintelligent at times. if i'm in a FULL party with onli one aco, i always tell my party members to rest every now and then, and use ur pots every now and then too, so they take pressure off of the aco(s)...u would xpect some things like that to be common sense...but i guess common sense isnt so common after all...XD.
best advice i can give to u and other acos....is not to sweat it...if ur party memebers continue to act so unintelligently...then just leave the party. ppl are always lookin for good acos so a party shouldn't be hard to find...and most of the ppl i've partied with are cool ppl...they won't yell at an aco if they die...onli thing that came close is party members askin to buff/heal if it seems like the aco isn't doin they're part when it comes to that area.
lastly, try duoing with an neo or squire...u get more exp that way anyway...try white/pink mobs if you do duo though...i'll stop ranting now...XD

I always try to bring hp pots with me no matter if I have an aco or not. The only time I get mad is when an aco revives me in the middle of an aggro mob, if there are three or more acos in a party and I still die, or the aco sits there and does nothing. I appreciate the acos that do a good job with healing even if I die sometimes.
It is our job however as fighters to pull aggros off of acos and not let them die, but if they attack a mob by accident then it is there fault.
A tip for acos: One thing that has gotten me killed a lot of times is buffing while fighting just wait till the fight is over to buff. ^^

Can we not start all this "aco's" are needed or else crap again. Yes you guys are treated unfairly and I appreciate you when I am in a party with you. NOW lets not get ahead of ourselves and say just because you guys aren't around we wont lvl. I have lvled without you and I still can. It's kinda big headed of you to think otherwise. Why are the squires always the hit of these threads? If you have an issue with a particular squire please call them out on it. Not all of us squires are bad and i'm sorry but if you strike we will still lvl.

yeah acos might have it hard, but if its that hard for you, you wouldnt be an aco now would you? Look at Chouji- he started out same time as me same lvl same class, COULDN'T hack it cause it was too hard and ppl kept yelling at him. now he is neo. Also keep your options open cause Disciple is pretty dam fun, 45 lvls of kiting and not being able to tank, and then you can if you want to...its pretty fun. Yeah i solo all the time ever since, i never use HP pots, never have aco help, and you know what? I like it like that . Assist Heal FTW!

well this is in fact not possible...
at first i hated that the buffs wore off and they just kept fighting.
but in time i got used to it and now i love it, i can multitask heals and buffs easily.
larger parties i find are very fun because its a challage to keep everyone buffed and healed up.
i will share a technique that you acos can try or if you already do this, disregard the following =P
in a large party i always buff everyone with both buffs first then half way through the fist up duration i buff everyone with bless again.
this makes it much easier to keep up IMO because now you've separated your tasks! now you can use one buff at a time instead of two, making it much easier to heal in between buffs ~.^
as stated by thrakx:
"yeah acos might have it hard, but if its that hard for you, you wouldnt be an aco now would you?"
agreed.

LOL! I LIKE it. And the aco's could team up and beat down the mobs on thier own (very effective, was doing it yesterday). Fighters would be weeping in the streets! Neo's would be running away invisible! Disciples would realize that that they actually need a few points in stam! Mages would be cursing the fact that nobody would fist them! Scouts... Scouts... Well, scouts probably wouldn't even notice -_-.

I can go perfectly fine without an aco Eater just no Reflection training in Gaudy forest XD. Even though you are one of the good acos I like. ^^
Besides I've duoed Loren before with another level 59 squire and we did perfectly fine even though we weren't in a party XD.

I'm torn at this point... See, I believe that every party should have at least one or two good acos in it, but we are deffinately expendable... If a party doesn't have an aco, all members just have to buy more hp pots, and they will take a bit longer to kill monsters. I really believe that we acos need the other classes more than they need us. It's hard to lvl an aco all by itself, but in a party, the exp seems to come incredibly fast. I just think it would be nice if people could realize that we do save them time and money.
... Saying that last line almost makes me feel like I'm selling car insurance, and it is kind of the same concept, if you think about it.

no duh people will still lvl without acos
it is just going to take longer..
and when u use the pots they dont heal as much as the minor heals.
but im still against the whole idea of the whining acolytes.
There are other classes. We do not need that much acolytes walking around. and getting into parties. =[
i dont even know
