OH NOEZ!!
http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/3226/dcpickz9.jpg
So you've gotten this message...
I'm here to help you!
I'm a moderator for fiestafan.com, and I always make a thread when the servers are down, to help out our little Fiesta addicts. So... I've decided to make a guide and share it with everyone! ^^
I will touch as many areas with this issue as I can in hopes of helping you and everyone go about getting disconnected! So.... here we go! =D
1. The Message
The message means you cannot connect to the games servers. There could be multiple reasons behind this! Let me tell you.
The servers are down, period. Due to either maintenance, crash, or update.
Your internet is having a connection problem.
Your area is IP blocked.
2. Your Issue
First.. when you get the message, close the launcher, and try one more time to get on. If you still get the message... read on.
Check your connection. Simple try this by opening an internet browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. You can also check your modem(unless you have dial up). All of the lights should be lit up. Atleast thats how most modems are ^^ If you cannot connect to any sites, or your modem is obviously not connected. You can try to reboot your internet by turning off your modem, turning off your PC, counting to either 15 or 30, turning your modem back on, then turning your PC back on. If your internet is still not connected, you may have to contact your ISP.
Check Outspark.com! Go to the site and go here (http://outspark.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12) and see if there's any new announcements pertaining to any downtime. If not, check out the forums, usually there will be discussions in general discussion(this section). DO NOT post a thread if there are other threads already (thats a big NONO), just leech off of the threads that have already been posted. And no, we don't need updates that its still down. DO NOT report the downtime, the Outspark staff most likely knows about the servers being down.
Location! Location! Where do you live? Maybe your area has been IP blocked. So far, the only places blocked are countries that have their own version of Fiesta, which the majority are Eastern Asian countries. You can figure this out by going to the forum search engine and searching for IP blocks, or checking the announcements.
Still can't connect?
Now it would be wisest to post a thread here (http://outspark.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11) or look in the stickies of that section. If there is no luck, Contact a CSR (http://outspark.custhelp.com/app/ask) with a detailed explanation about your problem. Post and email only once! Now you play the waiting game unfortunately! It may be an issue with a patch, or your firewall, or maybe even X-trap. Hopefully with your thread, some players will be able to help you! If not, hopefully you will get some help from support.
You may need to reinstall the game.
~How to Survive Down-Time~
Here's a list of things you can do to kill time!
1. browse the outspark forums
2. visit a fiesta fansite, fiestafan (http://www.fiestafan.com/) or fiestaHQ (http://www.fiestaonlinehq.com/)!
3. play another MMO!
4. play another game.. not necessarily an MMO.
5. draw, or do something artistic
6. read
7. go outside and get some vitamin D
8. go out with some friends
9. watch a movie, or TV
10. take a nap
11. listen to some music
12. run in circles
13. make a scavenger hunt of things to find at the store/mall and GO
If the downtime is in the evening for you... just go to bed.
And Yeah, you get it! =D
DO NOT keep trying to connect to Fiesta. Its like watching water boil, or paint dry. Sitting around and complaining doesn't help either, it just ticks you off more, and it makes your wait longer.
I hope my little guide has helped you have a more relaxing down time!

Yosei, I would somewhere include the Announcement (http://outspark.com/forums/announcement.php?f=14) about making threads concerning this issue
KireiYosei
03-11-2008, 07:14 PM
This is a general guide.. nto a guide just for this time. I linked to the announcement page, thats good enough.
x_Ace_x
03-11-2008, 07:18 PM
Then at least somewhere include it's actually against the rules to making threads about the same topic (ie: servers being down) and using the SEARCH tool is a better alternative, as it was the main point of that specific announcement.

Well, you know people will make new threads anyway. >P
Nice guide! I came back from dinner and found Fiesta disconnected... I just hope I didn't die while afk'ing or rollbacks.

Sure, I'll mention its a nono, but I basically have it put down to search the forums.

Yes. But if we warn people about it being against the rules they can actually get in trouble for it.

omg yes thats so cute lol!
I thought this would be another "servers down again! oh teh noes! :O" thread, but its actually quite relieving and helpful ^_^;;. The tone you set for it kinda calms a small panic that screams "*** NOOOOOOO FIESTA NOW NOW ADDICTION NOW".
And that image is SOOOOOOOOOO cute!

Yosei, one other reason for getting that message: Anti-virus is blocking you
Solution is to tell them to allow fiesta
KireiYosei
03-31-2008, 03:23 PM
Usually that goes with your internet too @.@ Well, with my virus protection program that is. Wouldn't let me do squat.

Hehe, make something even a fool can use and only a fool will use it XD However, best option for downtime would definitely have to be running around in circles! After all, you can't introvenus Fiesta screenshots into your veins at this stage :P

Kirei id just like to add one small thing to reasons why connection may not be possible, for people who like to play out of school.
Now i havent exactly researched weather or not Fiesta does this or not, but most games like to use the file transfer protocol or FTP for connections. My college has blocked this, dissallowing my connection to the servers for Fiesta. The reason for these blocks are because FTP is a MASSIVE bandwidth usage connection. One person using this type of connection may slow down the entire internet for everyone else (unless of course they have a T1 line or higher). Id like to note however that there is a way around FTP or similar bandwidth restriction blocks. Tunneling programs can help. Ive yet to find a free one thats compatiable with fiesta, but i have found a program called PING FU IRIS that tends to work. (i believe the program costs $5 a month) I havent used it personally but it works with programs like World Of Warcraft and other similar games. You may have to contact their site and ask for support for Fiesta. (im trying to do that now as a matter of fact). All it does is shrink your connection type into http protocol then connects to a distant server, reverts to an ftp, connects with fiesta servers, goes back to the remote server, turns back into http, and comes back to you. It may cause a little lag, but hey addictions need quenching my friend.
(alrite that was a little bigger than small, but hey explaniations are good right?)

That was actually a very helpful guide, Yosei...but it might be good to add this:
Some modems (like mine), will show that it's connected to the internet, but not bring the internet up. In cases like that, its best to unplug the modem, wait thirty seconds, and try again. If it still isn't working, restart the computer.
I don't know if thats a common issue, but I know for sure it happens a lot in my house. Thats about 55% the reason why I get kicked offline...
