African American Characters in SoS

i would jus like to know how many people would like African American Characters to make and get quest from inside Sos. Cause so far in the game i have never seen a African American in this game:confused:

I am talking about....when ur creating a character. Anyone who wants to make a Black character, can have the opition of making one.The 2nd thing i wanna know is if everyone else would like black characters in the game as ncp....(i think thats what they are called)

I think its a good idea, but it would probably offend people because they might make it look more like a stereotype, or it will make people want a character pallet of every race, because its impossible to do something like that without upsetting the balance of content players and angry ones.

those r some nice ideas..but TKhaos ur right...but all i can do is try right.but hey i think new hair styles etc. is great. i would really like it if they made a hair salon for it. so i wouldn't have to lose my high lvl scout. but jus make him black without making another person

i feel ya pain man...while i see nothing wrg with "white colored" characters in sos and games in general...i'd luv to have the option to create a black character and have black npcs in game...i feel like black gamers are so underrepresented in games...like we dont play video games ya kno?? and if they are its mostly sterotypical roles ie. (50 cents bulletproff...and the fight for new york games)...

(edit) if they do do this a salon to chage skin color/tone should be implemented...i'd hate to have to restart to make a black chracter...

Yes i would like to see black skin in the game. Although not all black people class themselves as african american so i prefer to say black instead.

I think that adding african american sprites would be a decent idea... although, there would have to be options to vary skin tone, hair options, etc etc, so as to allow other cultures their equal share. Being someone who chooses to be active in the community, I know A LOT of people from various cultures, locations, etc., so I am quite aware that there are a multitude of different walks of life that are represented in the game. Should sprite changes be made, they should be allowed representation equal to all others.

I would actually like to see some options like that, I think it would allow for players to further express themselves and their individuality in-game. I also think this option, should something like this ever be implimented, be a free function, something that you make your sprite to be the moment you make it at the character creation screen. Not something offered in the cash-shop....

thx...especially coming from ppl of u guys' stature. i would hope a Gm would look at this poll and see that many people would like a option of creating a Person of a different ethnicity. That share a different skin tone. but i would just like the help if anyone that is real close with a Gm to probably bring this to their attention. Cause i would vote this game the best game of 08 if they are able to provide US with this procalmation:D:D:D

I was thinking they could add in some kind of slider type thing that would let you adjust skin color to your liking. It would need more hairstyles and colors for hair. Adding a bit of variety to the game.

Ferria mentioned this in her player suggestions report and she is working on it. ^^

Well I just got private messaged that I am a racist. My reasonings are not racist. I think there needs to be more improvements to the game before they worry about skin color. If black skin was the only option...I would still play.

i dunno about every race...caz its not like this is a 3D MMORPG where we can adjust eye size, mouth shape, eye color etc. i think to make it easier there should be 4 skin tones. the color that they have now, a slightly darker pinkinsh color, a tan/dark brown color, and a jet black color for some of us that are a lil darker than others...and before i get flammed...i'm no racist...and like i've mentioned previously...i AM black...and if this is implemented...then i just might cry...*begins tearing*...oh...one more thing new hair styles/color would be beautiful too..*goes back to tearing*

I had bad experience with Afro American Clored characters in another MMORPG.
I created one black char and it didn't take long to hear racist comments about Michael Jackson and such -.-
And I'm afraid that this will bring a lot of racism into this game ._.
Racism sucks but thats the world we live in.
Thats why I voted 'no'.

Think about this logically...
The game originated in? Korea.
What's the main racial demographic there?
Asian.
So who are they targetting? Asians.
That is why most (98%+) online games designed in the East do not, and usually will not, have dark skinned playable characters.
They sometimes (30-40%-ish) have one or two black NPCs, but thats about the extent of it.

Some have however gone as far as to include the choice for players to be black in European/North American revisions of the game, but not many.

Also, remember Outspark owns the liscense to host and distribute the game, that doesn't mean they necisserily do a whole lot of coding.
Often times liscensees simply update (translate/test) updates from their asian counterparts.
Not to mention, even if they decide to actually insert race as a choice, it'd probably be a few years before you see it.

They'd have to reskin every character animation, and the new classes would take longer to develop due to the extra sprites and/or palettes required.

So its quite unlikely that you'll ever see black characters in Solstice.

Thats true it would be major work on Outsparks part I never said its a easy thing that they need to do it just would be nice to have that option and also me as in myself didnt just say blk char I would like different skin tone options from white to brown, black, red and green
