Today [GM]Silkypico spawned lots of bosses in elderine. I don't know if he was bored or testing the lag spikes (he once said "sooo, how's the lag") Point is the bosses killed me twice and killed most of the shops, so I couldn't leave my shop open cause I knew I'd die and I couldn't shop around.
Like it wasn't enough, he spawned the monsters right into the place where players spawn, so I'd die, ress and die again.
Nice job spoiling the night Silkypico!
Is this how GM's usually behave in this game? I'm starting to feel I wasted my money on that sparkcash I bought

What does GM and CSR Stand For?

A GM is a Game Master
A CSR is a Customer Support Representative

What is the Role of a GM?

GMs responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hosting various game events, awarding items, spawning monsters, hosting pvp tournaments, and keeping the overall atmosphere friendly and fun. They are the ones you would contact regarding any game play concerns that may arise such as guild issues, player harassment, bot reporting etc.

I do believe spawning monsters is one of his roles. He was only trying to create fun for the players themselves. Because how would we like it if they didn't host events, never showed up in-game, or didn't do the things they do? Some of us do find these events enjoyable, we should not jump on him just for spawning in a town. It's also one of the things that sets us apart from many other games as well. It doesn't hurt ones Exp Bar and he may of been trying to cheer up all the players feeling unhappy about all the server issues.

it was an event, they do that every few weeks in elderine. They did it at christmas to. It was for fun..... not to just harm you. You dont lose exp. And yes he said he was trying to over load the server to see if it would stay up. its late anyway. Since the day was a bust just go to sleep and play tomorrow. Everyone needs to stop complaining.

huh, he did this as well in uruga, teva. I got killed twice and it hurts when u dont have BoT. I also think its stupid spawning monsters and killing people is what its called "fun"

It was highly annoying.
I got trained by my own party member in BoD, after the whole being DC'd server crash thing, warped out before I could die because of that. Get to Eldy and I get killed by a Returned Mara.
That GM repeatedly said that it wasn't an event. And also mentioned something about just visiting to test the stability of the server.
And also said, and I quote "soo how's the lag?" I find this very rude and inappropriate behaviour.
I personally just found it irritating, and such behaviour was probably not helpful with the servers being instable.

I don't mind if GM's spawn monsters in town, usually they spawn them in the arena so they are somewhat contained. But as the creator of this thread said, this GM was spawning monsters in Spawn Spots where people come in after they die.

People were already irritated with two server crashes already today, and I seriously doubt this was the proper way to treat people after coming back online.

If the GM's want to test the stability, fine, but there are much better ways to do it than irritating already agitated people.

there are two things that could happen.

He starts getting into the groove of things and starts spawning the mobs in better area (like the arena area and the like.)

Or He doesn't quite catch on and continues to pull moves that just make people grind their teeth at how silly someone has to be for them to do this.

Problem is, it's hard to tell at times which is going to happen until they become more experienced.

he just misses commen sense, I mean he shouts with his name if you got questions Pm, ont he forums.
How stupid are you, if you say that then idiots who dont kno better will spamm you and some people just want to do what isnt allowed, atleast he could be smart enough to get rid of his name. And really he's the only one so stupid to spamm monsters at spaw point, the other Gm's kill them when they get near them.

Its not uncommon for that to happen. I remember coming out of kq and being killed right away because mobs were spawned at spawn areas and the lag was tremendous. Just take it as part of the game, which I believe it is even if they were just testing the servers. If they don't test the servers for stability, wouldn't we be complaining that they don't care about the stability of servers?

I don't involve myself with GMs or most of their events but I do understand that people need to stop complaining. They can't please everyone and no matter what they do some people will be upset.

As you said this GM is new. Give him a chance to learn. I'm sure he knows the rules and will do only what he is allowed to within his role as GM. Maybe he didn't phrase his replies politely enough to 'pacify' you but then again he was being honest. Who can fault that?

I think he was doing a little more than a stability test, as I was there when it happened.

He was just talking to people and then someone started shouting for him to spawn stuff. He said he didn't want to because the last time he did they killed everyone, but the people wanted it, so he did it. Everyone died. Then people started complaining... A LOT. To top it off, he would put a whole bunch of Empty treasure chests near himself so that people would be brought in (who doesn't want a treasure chest?) and then he would spawn monsters right on top of everyone.

Some people enjoyed it, most did not. I can assure you of that, as the shouting was 2/3 Please Stop, and 1/3 S>Armor.

I didn't mind it so much, but I did get lagged out once. I can tell you one thing though... seeing all the Returned Mara's and Marlone's kill the shops was very strange...

You MUST understand that the servers crashed, came back up, and seemingly crashed again (to our eyes at least. The GMs probably knew, or now know, the exact reasons), but after all that, it being really insanely late (I got disconnected from the servers at about 9:30, and read others were as well, so apparently there was another minor crash), but since it was so late, it was the best time to do any testing with overload. As the easiest way to do this is to spawn very powerful creatures and create alot of downloading and uploading, and transfers of information, then he was doing the right thing.

You would be happy to be playing happily and have the servers crash again? I think not.. I wouldnt. I would rather he test the pooh outta it to make sure it doesnt crash instead of me sitting there thinking "oh teh noes will it crash again????"

I may also be biased.. I just reported somethign to GM Silkypico, and he was incredibly.. well, awesome about it. He got it done in a timely manner, was kind to me even though I didnt have all the information for it, and he fixed the problem (before I even went to bed! So I didnt have to wait!). So I think he was right for doing the spawning. Plus. the spawning is fun.. it get show many of us together to defeat these spawns? I recall so many against those dragons I couldnt even load the page without hiding characters. xD

I have fellings that people taken everything what regard Fiesta little tooo seriously.
THIS IS ONLY GAME!!! and should stay as a game not replacing world instead your real life.
How old is Fiesta?, not even one year but many people expect from her quality of WoW or any other "older and PAY FOR PLAY" MMO.
To be honest whit current status as Free to Play game they need more time to make everything running smoothly.
<off topic>
Last time i start thinking about creation in Elderine and Uruga something like Marketplace Zones.
In Uruga there is large free place near Battlezone guard ideal for set a shroom shop without risk of "metting angry Orc Customer".
I known that less people wander in this side of Uru, but no doubt after week or two when everyone will learn new location of shops more people will flow there and what is more important spreading shroom vendors on large area will reduce lag in Uru center.
In Elderine currently is almoust impossible move through stairs without facing strong lag generated by high density of shroom vendors...
Such market areas should also have PvP and PvM<Player versus Mob> immunity.

Wow...you guys are really stupid.

He was checking if the severs would hold. And by the "How's the lag?" comment he was actually checking HOW THE LAG WAS. It's his job. Yes, he could have worded it better, but no one's perfect. And on spawning the mobs where you respawn, might have just been a mistake. And you do have an idle time where the mobs can't attack you, USE IT. And remember he is new; give him some time.

Just my thoughts

If any player has any concerns with a player's (or GMs) actions in the game a report should be made with either GM_Dakkon or GM_SnakeEyes. Open flaming on the forums is not allowed.

With this said, if anyone has an issue with Silkypico or any actions he may have taken in-game I urge you not to post it on the forums but to PM it to the GMs. If you are uncomfortable with PMing a GM, then I suggest you PM CSR_Cretz or CSR_Hal.

I am closing this thread for two reasons: 1: the potential for flamage is way too high for my tastes and 2: just like with reporting players for in-game issues, the open forums is not the appropriate place - always report via PM.

Or, and here's just a thought: PM silkypico directly and discuss the matter 1 on 1. I have found that, more often than not, that tends to resolve things pretty quickly.

If you have any questions please PM me.

Thank you.
