Enchantments doing something wrong or ?

I would like to know if the enchantment system is based on luck entirely, as i seem to have had alot of bad luck with it.*I have lost 2 BPs,*6 shields, 2 hammers, 1 mace, all lvl 20 items in the last 2 days, and would like to know if there is something i do wrong or if the system are build around the 12,5% or less chance of success everytime you enchant?

I was told pure luck - or bad luck as the case may be. I have lost two maces already and am about resigned to living with a low power weapon since I can't keep accumulating the steep cost of the level 20 and up weapon.

I'd like to know as well, since I tried enchanting my staff with Elrue, and the first one landed across from the elrue, but still enchanted it. The second landed ON the Elrue, and enchanted it again. The third landed ON the Elrue again, and Destroyed my Staff. Somebody please explain Why it destroyed the staff after landing on the Elrue?

i've never heard of the item being upgraded from landing ON the elrue..maybe you used a lucky for the first time and it went up by 2 and you didnt notice..then when it landed on the elrue nothing happen,making you think it went up again

Somehow i have hoped that it wasn't like that, as it make it almost impossibly to upgrade your stuff, in a way so it actually follows your lvl,*and for me that one thing takes all the fun out of a good game, as it actually make me angry to see what i have used days of hard adventuring to get, just gets destroyed, because of some stupid random counter which i have no influence on. Hopefully it will be something they change for the release of the game.

Just stay away from regular elrue/lix/xir..use nothing but lucky and blessed and it idnt do bad..i used to have a horrible time with refining..but with using blessed and lucky i got the lvl 20 crossbow to 5 with 2 bows..and the lvl 30 one to 4 in one try





since the success rate of +1 is pretty high use a lucky so you can hopefully get +2 from it..then the success rate for +3 isnt TOO bad(still alittle to low for its benefit tho)use another lucky if you have money to buy a backup just incase then you could end up with a +4,otherwise use a blessed so its less likly to be destroyed

It was probably because sometimes when you fail to enchant it doesn't destroy your weapon, its like a warning or 2nd chance. never heard of landing on it and enchanting though.
