Where exactly do you sell the stuff you pick up? I've looked for a merch npc and couldn't find one.

dude you can sell them to pretty much every NPC who sells items or skills, seriously how hard is that to figure out?

you can sell them to other player's "Purchase Stores".

Yea other players is an easy way to make up to 5 times what the venders would pay you

Steppes to collect good money:
1. Kill a lot of things
2. Pick up the junk they throw down
3. Sell it in a store, ANY STORE.
4. If possible, make stuff with it so youd on't have to spend or you can sell it (potions, etc)
5. Repeat steppes 1-4 a billion times untill satisfied.

nice like the ending but yea its the same stuff over and over again but when you get in the double digits with silvers then refine weapons and shields and sell them when you get them above +3 thats where you start to make the good money

go to a guy called otherlilspanish give him 50s and he will make a wepon that sells for heeps

you coud do all that sure but what you should try is start a new char and kills slimes and things and nothing else til lvl 5 while collecting everything and move to musshies and stuff one by one. remember to colect the drops and do the quests. Easy money.
unless ur a bum then mine for stuff in echo caves or something.

When I first started, I had a lvl 1 (lol no shyt) and I created 3 other chars..I would sell all the lvl1 weaps to npc, put money in storage, and delete the char and make another one and do same thing over and over again...I got about 20s which took me about a day?
I know it's kinda stupid, but if you are desperate for money as much as I did back then, you'll do it....
Or other than that you could just do quests for money....iono >.>

making money isn't hard..
if you kill any monster at your lvl always pick up the drops and farm for mushrooms or herbs and sell it to the NPC.
when you are high enough like level 2x go to the abyss and you will get a lot of loots from them, and when you get green items, try to sell here on the forums or ingame.
