Harvesting -> Harvest bar -> how to use?

Hi again!

When I havest something like a tree, there is the Harvest bar with the little gold bar on it (everytime on another place)


I've seen somewhere, that I have to click on it, if the green bar touches the gold one.
Sometimes I click on the bar in the "right" moment, and the gold bar glows.
It seems to be a bit difficult to click the right moment... I don't hit often

But: What does it change? Do I get more/better items, if it glows often?
or is it just for fun?

If you click it at the right moment, you harvest things quicker. I heard somewhere that it was bugged, though.

I think they fixed it... well, for mining anyways... but now I hear it's bugged again.

It's a very hit-and-miss process, with more misses than hits... I dont bother with it, I just do what I'm there to do and get on with it. Boring work, but it's gotta be done. -_-

Tell me about it.... *sigh* took over an hour and a half of running up and down Sand Beach on Nini (previous coonie.... she died) to get enough wood for Maria. In the process, I ended up with 8 apples, 12 or so fine sap... and 72 regular sap before I got my ten regular wood....

Maybe the wood should harvest a bit more frequent? I still get fine firewood more than regular wood... and the regular wood's basic... So going by every other drop in this game, shouldn't the basic be more common?

Some areas give more of one item than another. Next time for some firewood try the middle island in FoM. More firewood drops there, in my friend's and my experience.

I did try FoM the first time you get the firewood quest. The wood there is few and far between (escpecially when you're trying to outrun someone else for it). And in my case, all I got (for the most part) was more sap, fine firewood and... more sap...

*sigh* I really hate sap... too much of it...

I cannot remember which button it is on the mouse, but I have a feeling it's the left button (although you do many things in-game with the right button), so, when the edge of the green bar is under the yellow line, click the yellow line. Considering there is a slight delay between when your brain processes something and when your muscles move, and between your mouse and your computer, and between your modem and the server, it's rather hard to get it right :/ I've done it a total of 3 times before XD

Firewood is T2, so it's much more easier to get in places that drop T2 things.
There are tons of trees in MT and they drop Firewood like crazy.
I don't know why Fine Firewood would be t1, really doesn't make sense name wise @_@.

Yes, it was fixed for a short time, and then 2 patches ago it broke again. I wish they would figure out what they are doing to break it and just not do that anymore. >.>

GM_Snakeeyes reports that it is known and pending: http://outspark.com//forums/showthread.php?t=46033, but I swear it was fixed sometime in between when that post was made and now.

Many people have trouble with getting it just right due to the lag of their computer/connection. Even though I was able to do it fairly frequently, there were times I thought I hit it and it didn't fast-harvest for me (no explosion).

The whole point is that if you click on the gold bar when the slider is right on top of it, it will do a little explosion and immediately harvest.

For whatever reason, I have also had much more success if you actually place the tip of the pointer on the gold bar itself, rather than just anywhere in the harvest bar.

put your cursor to the right most part of the yellow bar. there's only like a 2 pixel wide vertical bar that you have to click on. i basically put my cursor so that just the tiniest tip of it is on top of the yellow.

i hold my mouse everytime just on the gold bar, and sometimes it works a few times proximate...
but another try it doesnt work at all. for me its just bugged, cause i've never seen an "explosion" before. even when the gold bar was glowing 3 times following...

Only a few times for some of you? I usually take a few ties, but I usually hit the bar every time. All the same, I did notice that it was bugged, and it was something that rather annoyed me, though, I wasn't completly sure if it was just me or not.
