i think i know how xen stones drop [Archive]

It seems to me that xen stones drop over certain periods of time. At least 4 me xen stones will not drop at all then then maybe 7 or 8 lvls latter about 3 or 4 will drop in about 10 hour time period and then i will not get any more 4 another 7 or 8 lvls. so i was wondering if anyone else noticed this pattern.:D:D

Doubt it, on my apprentice i got 2 before i hit 20, and on my scout my first xen was at lvl 47... and ive had like 6 on my disciple

highly unlikely... my archer go xens last sunday and the previous time that stone dropped to me was when i was at lvl 40ish..

Nuu nuu nuu :D You haven't knacked it yet! Well, I gotta say that I think the Xen drop is *drummroll* random! ^^ ... Well, at least I'm pretty lucky, i get Xens quite often...

I've only seen 4 xen's drop (and one of them wasn't off my kill). Only won one out of three...

One was at 2x and my apprentice friend got it, another at 52 when I was Torean and I won it, and then I saw another drop at tellingdenver and the aco got it.

I too have gotten 2 Xen Stones in a really short period of time soloing my Acolyte o.0
But I'd like to agree with the theory of Xen Stones dropping more frequently at lower levels. =/
If you never or haven't noticed. I made hundreds of different alts and mains. ._.
Each one of them dropped at least 1 Xen Stone in their brief lives... okay. Not every but I just find it more common for me to see a Xen Stone on my 2x then my 4x Neo at this point.

I few days ago I found THREE XEN STONES soloing over the span of a day. First time finding xens in something like..a month and a half..
Just found it sort of odd o.o

I was hunting Gurons and I got 2 xen stones drop before 1 firewood... LOL!!! (in 10min)
Though I agree it's totally random... maybe my char is lucky... cause... i get like 4-5 per week xDDD!

Xens are random, once I got two in half an hour soloing, but I've been playing for more than a week without a drop. IMO there isn't a pattern, but I do think they drop more at lower levels. Peace.

There might be a pattern...I was running through a map with my party and as we were passing another party, they got a xen drop. We moved to the next map, (it was very close to the entrance) and then we got a xen drop.

People tend to xen their gear all at once, and once a xen is used, it returns to being a drop, correct? (if I'm not mistaken.. >.<) Maybe xens that are used will then drop in close proximity of each other...

Heh, I got 2 xens in 2 days aoeing Lost Bryn. Kinda weird...I haven't got any since 6x.

I believe that the Xen drop rates randomly vary each day. Some days might see and increase in Xen drops while others show a decreased. After running around whacking blue/white mobs to see if there were any drop patterns and the next day, I switched to my alt and after 7 red mobs, I got a Xen drop . Before I've also gotten a 2 xen in a day and then a Xen drought. Go Figure.

xen drops are totally random tho from wat i notice, ther r more drops if ur training in pink named maps

had 2 drops in giant poyo map near essene wen i was really low lvl
n bouta month ago, my pt had 3 drops in harrigton frest near cv n i got one :)

it stands to logic, white names giv mor drops while red names drops less but better... sort off......so if pink name, then there would b a chance of good drop n mor of it

If u want xen stones and are lv 60-65 go to north Eir. The first two maps there drop xens often especially the second one. Why i remember i used to get two xen stones a day their when i was a scout, but now I'm way too high a level guess i gotta make another level 60 scout or something. Oh I also wanted to know has anyone had any luck with xens in dungeons after the update. I was told that xen rate increased in dungeons so was hoping to know if anyone had luck with that so please let me know.

My party and I got a xen stone after 5 minutes of killing but we didnt get another one after that. I think we just got lucky thats all. But the GMs themselves have claimed and confirmed that the Xen Stone drop rate in the second level of the Eir Dungeon is the highest than anywhere else in the game.

Rofl, I remember reading this when it was first posted. When I saw the title, I even remembered this exact post, and it took me a minute (yeah I know, I'm a little slow at times :p) to see that it WAS. I was pretty sure back then the theory had some holes in it, and 178 levels later I'm positive it's not correct. It was a good idea at the time though, when people were still wondering where those red pinging jewels we love to hate came from. Now that we know the blacksmith takes all the xens that fail, and feeds them to the monsters, giving us the same failing xens over and over, there's no more need for such hypothesis'.

The earliest and best rumour I remember, was Xens being a frequent drop at Mystra. (Actually turned out to be true, though I never won any of them. Lucky party members >.>)
