"I click the install but nothing happens!" Centralized Topic

Okay, I've browsed the forums, and it looks like many people are having this problem. You click the installation icon, but nothing happens. Perhaps the computer freezes, or perhaps the mouse shows the familiar hourglass sign, but even after an hour it's still "loading." This is happening to many users, and the answers really are vague or off topic. I think this is an important issue, and should be dealt with. Because... How can we help report bugs and glitches when we can't even install the game? Are there any answers out there? Maybe the program is not compatible with Vista? It's not administrator issues, because I'm the administrator of this laptop. It's not an invitation to closed beta because being able to open a file shouldn't have anything to do with receiving an email or not. There's some compatibility problems that should be looked into. Any ideas/suggestions on how to fix this?

here's a sugestion: try installing xp or set the game compatibility to win xp or win 98/ME. the actual problem is that win vista doesn't recognize some of the win xp installer packages and sets them inside the system as unreadable.the continuos loadin icon is 'cause of the fact that it is constantly searching for some specific win xp lybs that are needed to open those files...the only thing u can do if u want to keep vista is to hope that microsoft either adds those lybs or fix this issue. the problem isn't game related but rather microsoft related.
