Hey all...just wanted to stop by here and say hello. A friend of mine and I just stumbled across this game and decided its pretty fun. Was wondering if there are any noob helper guilds or whatnot that can teach us the maps and where to lvl. I have a 28 Apprentice and my friend plays a 33 Neophyte. Thanks for you time!!!

I could help you out in-game but I'm a little busy at the moment. You can look up maps on google (search Secret of the Solstice map) or look around in the forums and you'll find some useful info.

Good luck ^^

I agree, the forums are very helpful. You can also ask people via in-game chat if you have any questions, just keep in mind that it's bad to distract someone who's fighting, and or running from possible death mob :D

Did you have any specific questions? I mean at lvl 30 ish I wouldn't call you a noob exactly.

Noob/Nub is the gaming term for Newbie.

incorrect

Noob

The game definition of noob (variant spelling, n00b) is usually someone, often in online games who acts in offensive ways to other users or people that surround them and refuse to go away, or stay by any other methods for the sole purpose of annoying others. The word noob can also mean in an online game someone who did something stupid, or asked an obvious question. For example, if someone asks a question answered in the FAQ or is common knowledge, others will call that person a noob. The word derives from the 'newbie' (a new player) and 'boob' (an idiot).

Newb

Newb is also considered a relatively new person to a game that is inexperienced and doesn't know what they are doing. This term is often addressed as newb (Newbie).

Nub

Nub is another spelling of noob. Sometimes, nubs are used to describe people who are worse than noobs. The general explanation is that a "nub" is so bad, that it is a waste of time to type two o's for this person. Therefore, the double o is replaced by u.

wow no offense but i didnt expect my first forum post to go so far off topic.

But anyway...thanks for all of your replies and if you ever see Reliac (me) or Gormageddon (my buddy) give us a holler or something.

BTW the terms Noob, Newb, and Nub all derived from the word newbie...and im pretty sure those who made up the different variations had the same definition in mind...
pretty much the only difference between them in the difficulty in typing...noob is obviously easier than newb...since half the letters are spamming the same button....and nub is just easier to type than both....obviously.....

Lol so how does that make me incorrect. They're just different ways to call someone a newbie; polite, impolite, etc. ;)

No problem, feel free to PM or whisper me if you need more help.

elzy this diff is you can call some one a newb and its not so offensive. You can even say nub or nubbie for short, so long as you use it in a positive manner. However the term n00b or noob is just an insult for anyone that might be super stupid, wannabe leet, know it all, ect.

lol @ khrim. the best part about the name is you guys are all too young in game to know about it. Back in October though no one knew ANYthing about the game. We all just started. People weren't as friendly and willing to help back then either. Some where of course but mostly not. You couldn't get anyone to answer you to save your life. I was the ultimate newbie. So I chose the most ironic name I could find, since it was my first MMORPG, eventually desiring to become 'King' of all n00bs. Now look at me.

BTW TC this is what you get when you get friends in NOTK!!

sorry bout the off topic, but i dislike the misuse of the word

they are all derived from the same word, however they have diffrent meanings

however due to people misusing newb\noob the two words are beginning to have the same meaning.

again sorry for the off topic, we should probally stop it there XP

LoL ya i agree and disagree. Misuse of certain words bothers the hell out of me as well. But hey its the internets...cant really police what goes on in it....you can only ***** and swing your mighty e-peen in everyones direction that you see fit.

Its good to know that there are some in this game that have a sense of humor and helpful. Hate it when you ask someone a simple question in game and they spend the time *****ing you out....when they could just answer your question.

Anyway i look forward to seeing some of you in game and hope someday i can participate in the pwning of said "newbs"????
