I finally found a treasure box! It was located in Sand Beach over the top of the left hill that marks the entry to the Little Hob/shortcut to angry wolf/Forest of Mist trails.
I could not open it because the box is located outside of the area characters may access.
Darn!
I appologize if this is a duplicate post. A search function would be a nice addition to the next bug report forum if there is to be another closed beta test.
