What's AP? It's being posted on shop signs and looks ... uh ... interesting. What is it? (new to the game pl0x)

AP is additional points (to either defense or attack.) The gear comes in a 2, 4, or 6ap (except the shields which are 1, 2, or 3ap) and the weapons are the same as the gear (I believe.) The 6ap is the most rare and thus, most valuable.

Also, you can't buy or put AP onto weapons, just the +1, +2, etc.

Mmm, I've picked up a nice pair of shoes that didn't have the +x but it had additional stats. Do those count as well?

not really but gear randomly will be better or worse sometimes, or have an additional plus to magic or attack, or movement speed. So check your gears before selling them and if you get something good raise the price a little.

Yeah, that's the AP. The +1 is the Xen put on it. A +0/6ap is not as valuable as a +1/6ap, but nothing to throw away either.

^It isn't, but you'd be surprised how valuble they can be, even without +numbers. Anything with AP is valuble. I bought my Marksman bow with +0 and 6AP for 600,000 kron. Lately the only one I've seen selling in a shop is for 800k.

Just to make a little more clear, AP (additional points) add points to defense (in the case of armor) and attack (in the case of weapons) above the set defense/attack you see listed. This means that instead of my Marksman Bow having an attack of 49, it has an attack of 55. Each + number adds another 2 points onto that stat, so my Marksman Bow +2 with 6AP has an attack of 59, a full 10 points higher than a normal bow.

Some equipment can also have other additional stats. Shoes can have movement +1, shields can have dodge +1, and weapons can have attack time of -.01 seconds.

Hehe, it's pretty awesome when you get something that you need to drop :P though personally I've only found +ap from other classes so far. Squire drops hate me ^_^

AP can make items more expensive by a great deal depending on what kind of item it is also.
