It needs to have a robust search engine so that people can track their own posts and search for topics already discussed, it will make your life simple!

This forum is terrible. It doesn't display properly (at least in Opera, the standards-compliant browser), messes up text presentation in posts, has no search feature, and is just overall bad. I suggest phpBB - it's free, works great, and most people are extremely familiar with it.
