I can't go along with this, the reason this is a closed beta test and what you are meant to be doing is testing the game one way of doing this is by*doing things that you would not normally do. If I had been playing this game then my character would not be the same as it is now, as I have been testing where as you have obviously just been playing the game.

I think they should, it's annoying that you just get your character deleted after spending a bunch of time to lvl them up. I don't know about you guys but some people can't play 24/7 cause they have things to do rather than play a game, it's fun...but if they're gonna delete it then it's a waste of time to play.

Firstly, you're player as a Beta Tester. As a tester you should've understood that your 'work' would probably be erased after the bugs were ironed out. From the mentality you're coming from, I bet you've ignored half of the bugs you ran into and just enjoyed Fiesta as a free MMO.


And it's not a complete waste, as you'll know plenty of new things when you restart as a Lv1 again.

But, they should give Closed Beta testers a few freebies when the open beta starts since level 20+ characters won't be deleted, only reset back to 1.

In addition to the above I do not want to keep my lvl anything characters. This is a time to test the game for bugs and also an opportunity to learn what works and what does not as far as your characters go.

I agree with what everyone's said so far. Beta testing is beta testing for a reason. To rule out bugs, see what the general population things about the crux of the game, and to give us a chance to test it out as well. When you play a game in a CLOSED beta stage, it's a well known fact that your characters are likely to be erased because of all the bugs that are still in the game.


For instance, think as if Fiesta kept all level +20 characters. Mages and clerics have a problem right now with INT, because it clearly doesn't give the right damage or healing capacities as INT SHOULD. So everyone's focusing on SPR right now.


But what would happen if Closed Beta went down, and Fiesta's stat system was completely changed so that INT were to give the right amount of damage and SPR was gimped in a sense? What would happen to the level 40 mages that have full SPR or barely any INT? They'd be way out of proportion when it comes to stats compared to newcomers. Although a stat reset can help, it'd still be a large hassle on Fiesta's part.


And not to mention how the economy would be completely butchered because of the items that we would have. Beta testers would have a tremendous advantage compared to the new players that would begin playing when the official release is opened.


Although it'd be great to keep the characters we worked hard on to level during the beta process, it'd just be really unfair to the people who haven't been invited to the Closed Beta test~ Even if it's not that hard to get an invitation in the first place. *_*

I totally agree in a complete wipe down of the characters. It's true, we are just testing the game BEFORE it is fully released. If your not willing to build a new character from ground up, Why Bother? Go buy something that is already released. For me, half the fun is in building the character.





Sorry to be the devils advocate, but I doubt allowing the beta characters to continue through would totally ruin the economy. Given enough time, with the people who have all day to play compared to the ones who have only an hour or two, you already get a major gap between characters. Plus, If you let the betas keep their characters, Everything would eventually smooth over. So a few months down the road, you would be at the same point as if everyone started from scratch, Just a few more higher level characters.


Another thing to remember, the game is not a race, their really is no definite finish line for this type of game. I think people who can dedicate their life to the game have an advantage. When most players get to a certain level, they usually start over anyway with a new character. I just made it to 22 and I already want to test out the other classes.


For the way the game is now, I find it really useful to start a low level character, It basically gives me my own private ingredient gatherer, so I don't have to deal with stingy little twerps.


But to reitorate, I still believe their should be a wipe, so developers won't get stuck on adjusting the game to fit the characters that were there.

you know what's funny, if you read the end user agreement you can find under it that you will not be able to keep your character after the*beta 2 is*finished.* Meaning before you even started playing the game it was already clearly stated that you will not keep your character.* They are being*kind by at least letting you keep your name*at level 20+ and*to be honest this is the first and only game that*I have ever seen that did that.* So if you have a problem*understand that this petition is nothing because before you even stated playing it was already written in the rules and regulations, on the forums, and even in the read me, and all that other*stuff you see.* For those that think and end user agreement on the net is not legit, you are wrong because if it is posted by the company anywhere, where it shows a time and date it is 100%*legal.* Courts won't even try to settle this matter.*

i have 2 20+ chars and fully equiped, yet i dont think it would be right to keep the chars when he game fully releases.


playing this game now is just testing the ins and outs and if your lucky enough to play now you already know a thing or 2 about the game when it releases meaning you will level alot faster then when you where a complete noob.


So NO, no char keeping, keeping the name sure i see no problem with that but all chars should be fully whiped.

Referring to the economy, supposing we all kept our characters until after beta, we'd have an amazing amount of money, compared to the newbies. there would be a level gap, even if half of us made new characters. Items would be overpriced. And besides, maybe once the game starts, everything will be worth more or less anyway if characters are wiped. I'm not saying this wouldn't even out out time, but even the temporary chaos would not be a great launch for a game.

No. It means ALL characters whether they are level 1 or Level 100 will be deleted at the end of CB testing. Making it to 20th level will save your characters name for you( name and ONLY the name will be saved)You can level up as much as your heart desires, you just can't keep the character.

Why? Simply because of the over-the-top "events" the GMs have been holding for everyone and their grandma. I mean that is something to give players a taste of things. To allow folks to keep all that stuff and/or whatever number of silver off all the free drops would only ruin the economy.





While I can sympathize, look at it this way. A reset will allow people to create the character they may have messed up on in allocating their training points. I for one messed around and threw away a few into useless things that I will definitely put into other areas when I reset.

I disagree. If Lvl 20+ got to keep there characters, many bugs from the beta would be carried over. Also i think that its kind of exciting seeing how all the higher lvls u once knew will all be lvl 1 again... its like a whole new evolution. if you are 'playing' Fiesta Online Closed Beta 2 Phase for fun, i suggest you would stop Fiesta for awhile. the GMs are good enough to let you keep your name if you are Lvl 20 or over. i dont see any other games letting people who got Lvl 20 or over during Closed Beta Phase to save their name.

I'd also like to point out that we've made our mistakes, and shuold know enough to not make the same ones. For intance, I 'll pick my production skills better this time. first time around I sold all my dusts (8 silvers worth), then 2 lvls later decided to pick stone production, after I no longer had any dusts...lol


Like was stated above you have the advantage of knowing how the game works. You won't take nearly as long to lvl as you did the first time around.


Yes, it will stink having to do it all again, but if all you focus on is the negative, you won't enjoy the fresh start you've been given.

Let's face it, we lost our characters, but on the other hand, just by joining the fiesta CB tests we were already helping /sites/all/modules/tinymce/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif, even though we weren't able (or wanted) to make a report, we all helped to improve Fiesta. They needed to test server connections, bandwidth, etc. Some people might have helped more than others, but we all knew this was just for testing, it is free! so let's help them to keep it that way, and cmon, we can do better characters now! I can't say that I feel the need to offer up any pity for you. You made the choice to "waste your time", and play the game for 10-13 hours a day.


You were supposed to help the devs make the game bug free. You made three posts. None of which had anything to do with bug reporting. You were not invited by outspark to play, you were invited by someone else who was already playing. I know this because the outspark team would not have invited you to test with only a couple days left before they closed CB2. So if you want to be miserable about it, complain to the person who invited you.


The download for the game is not a quick one, so you had plenty of time to peruse the site, and learn more about what was going on, and you obviously didn't.


It's because of people like you, that preparation-H has a disclaimer that it should "not be taken orally".


Maybe that's a little harsh, but I'm so sick of all the whining, and b*tching going on about this subject. So you wasted 10-13 hours a day of your life. It's not like you had something more constructive to do. Because if you did, you would have done something else instead. And to what end is it a waste? Do you not recognize the awesome opportunity one of the other testers gave you to get in on the ground level of this game, and learn the mechanics of it?


Obviously to play the way you did, you had to enjoy the game. So stop being so d*mn negative, and just deal with it. It's no ones fault but your own for not learning more about what was going on. It's not like they hid the information from you.

Damnz you got pwned! :P. Anyway I think they the characters should be deleted because this was closed beta and if the characters were to stay it might bring back some old bugs and whatnot.

Firstly, you're player as a Beta Tester. As a tester you should've understood that your 'work' would probably be erased after the bugs were ironed out. From the mentality you're coming from, I bet you've ignored half of the bugs you ran into and just enjoyed Fiesta as a free MMO.


And it's not a complete waste, as you'll know plenty of new things when you restart as a Lv1 again.

When did i*make*a VALID argument saying i wanted my char?I said that i doubt anyone would mind having thier char in OB(therefore the post could'nt have been directed towards me),because like you said her post was directed at those "complaining" about their chars being deleted.


Also I am keeping this post alive because I like**I so clearly stated before I can ^^*and sorry but*I cant break my own face (I'm to pretty ) ^^b.

Ok. so if they want to delete the characters it should be easier to lvl up and make money. what i mean is, more exp for killing monsters and/or completing quests. if you dont want to have the monsters drop some money, then have the quest completions give you more money. other things to improve, have more tutorials or something so we dont have to keep going to forums to learn how to play the game. and to set up a vendor, increase the number of slots available to put stuff up in and once store is set up, allow a quick update so that we dont have to put all that stuff up again, just add an item or 2 to it. i do like the linked bank between toons on same server. ok, ok. so bsically what im saying is, make it more like WoW.
