View Full Version : Observations and a few Suggestions

I've played about three characters just to investigate what kind of game this is and I've noticed that equipments(normal or green-named) are very rare.


At first, I thought that it was only my luck that keeps me from getting one but I get a lot of accesories from monsters. What convinced me of posting this is when I check around Vendors.


In Roumen, I saw no one selling a green-named equipments. Most of the equipments are accesories or upgraded equipments from NPC or Kingdom Quest Boxes.


In Elderine, I saw about 2-3 equipments being vend and most of the people are selling Enhancement stones.


I have problems in getting money to buy future equipments(those that cost about 6 silvers and above) because monsters don't drop anything that you can sell to the NPC higher than 5 copper. I'm trying to save money but it gets lower every level rather than increasing.


Even though there are Production Skills, with a lot of players doing the same thing, selling Elrues or Scrolls are not a favorable thing to do as well. You may end up selling with the least price if you really need a lot of money and end up getting a little profit plus, you wasted a lot of time waiting for someone to buy. I only survive by using the potions that I create, I don't buy health stones, they cost a lot.


Quest rewards are quite pleasing. Repeatable Quest Rewards are not.


The King Slime Kingdom Quest are too crowded with low level leechers that doesn't help at all(most are Level 6 Archers which just randomly attacks dealing about 10-12 damage and Level 6 Fighters that doesn't help in tanking, both of those kinds just eat up spaces, last time we ended up having 6 leechers and no Clerics.).


Newly bought Mover Horses costs about 500 coppers which a newbie can't easily get, plus, you will need to buy the scroll as well which cost the same as the Horse, what's worse, the Horse only have 100 HP at start, and you will need to buy the Float Stones which cost 250 a set, making you spend about 1s250c.


Suggestions:


1. Make at least, normal equipments drop from monsters more possible. So that players can make a bit more money.


2. Make the Kingdom Quest level limit be more appropriate, like making it 9-16 or something. I see a lot of players complaining and leechers greatly disrupts the team play inside the KQ.


3. Make the Newly bought Horses have full HP so players can use it a bit longer than usual.

Those Wooden Horses are a waste of money to newbies in my honest opinion. Although it's useful in traveling in far distances, it's hard for players to get it initially because gaining money can be difficult for some. But another point that can be made is that Wooden Horses shouldn't be for newbie players, and that they should be bought when people have enough money.


I think that monsters dropping actual equipment/weapons somewhat rarely and money frequently would be a great idea and would help players gain a boost of money in their pockets (or inventory in this case lol).


It's not hard at all to make Elune if you gather all the items needed. But the problem here is if you're wanting to make potions, scrolls, or stones, you have to sacrifice your drops to make these items. So you won't be able to sell your drops right off the bat. Instead, you have to try and wait to make profit. Which as you said, doesn't really work for most of the time since that profit doesn't really roll in if you're trying to sell for the cheapest amount out there compared to those who are attempting to sell for profitable amounts.


Those Kingdom Quests were of no problem to me, but then again that's because I hit my first KQ when I was level 16, which is the maximum level for the first set of KQs. Each group I was in fared well as long as people knew where to go, and what to do. But leechers are a huge problem when they don't know what they're doing, they don't help, and only cause problems in the group.


But I think that no matter what, as long as you put a level requirement on any type of raid, you'll always have leechers. The only thing that can help groups in KQs from being exhausted with leechers is by making the level requirements more tightly knit (i.e. levels 9-11 or 14-16). It won't solve EVERYTHING, but I think it might help a bit.


I wish I knew more about green items though. It seems to me there's hardly a rarity system in the equips/accessories. But I might just be blind since I haven't gotten too far in the game yet.

Well, drop rates may realy use some improvement, form my mmorpg expirience there are two types of games: with european drop/exp & with korean drop/exp, korean drop drives away most european gamers cause they don't like "WORKING*the*game"*(i*know*that*it's*not *spelled*this way, it just a good way to express what i ment to say) rather*then*playing*the*game,but*korean


games*usually have more things to do after u reach high levels, it's said (in never played it myself) that in everquest u get to highest and start thinking "WHAT*FOR did i do that?" in lineage (korean rates) there are:


1*subclasses, nobeless, heroes


2*castle*sieges for castle ownership


3*item madness (u gain level much faster than equipment)


4*item*madness*part*2*-*upgrading*wpns*u*got*


in*part*3*&*if*u*break*em*then*part*3*again


in wow (european*rates) (again dindn't play it much*just what i heard) u:


play*battlegrounds*to*get*honour


storm*sertain*instance to get equipment u build up honour for

not*shure*about*how*things

thees are just most popular exemples*but they generaly show the situation not shure about others opinion but i think the best game would be with european drop & korean idias, not all thou (more about this later)


i'm*not*conserned*this*much*about*expirience*thoug h, from my expirience in mmorpgs & some rpgs expirience is something u'll eventualy gain, items & in some games (like*rf) skills (not here though cause here they're level based) are much more imporant and/or harder to get


i'd*prefer*drop*higher*then*exp,*though hi exp would be good too, this saves time and healing items

4*crafting*set that i*got realy upset me imho alchemy i'st interesting and i'm shure there are more*players who want to craft but dont like alchemy.





4.1*i'd realy like to see wow-like*enchanting (as*alternative*to*number*2)*method*with several changes

(i.e.weapon*enchanted*for*str will have a red glow and the more str it adds the more it glows)


4.2*equipment*crafting


-white*equipment*only*but*each*


peace*of*equipment*can*be*made*of*3*types*- with higher stats (maybe more types with different stats increas like speed or damage) , with lower level requierments, with higher enchancemnt values (i meen from 4.1 not +x enchancment)


-at*high*levels*crafting*artifact-like*&*relic-like*weapons*(same*types,stats*&*level*


as*normal*weapon*(from*1*to*final) but for*MUCH more resourses and MUCH*with higher enchantment limit)


-nwn-like weapon*customisation*exept that the model shoud stay the same or almost the same (we need to recognize weapon by it's look). Maybe customize color*&*hilt.


-artifact-like*&*relic-like weapons*&*armour should be fully customisible (models like*hilt & blade parts should be selected from*pre*created*set*(mayde make a model making contest))


4.3I*dont*have*any*more*crafting*skills*ideas*


but*other*players*may (maybe make a contest)


4.4 btw make a way to unlearn'em (maybe for ingame money) with loosing whatever skill exp u got by crafting with unlearned skill


5*a*CRAZY*idea*-*make*fixed*prices*in*


private*stores,*i*now*it sounds crazy and will be heavily criticized but here'my point let's take stonemaking for exemple i've seen people buying resoures for 3c and selling elrue for 60 since it takes 9 resources to make i elrue so we spend 27c and get 60 great isn't it? well it isn't*the're hells lot of people selling elrue so people who dont have time to sit for 8 houers and sell staff sell them for 50 sometimes even 45 and resources are bought for 5 so even if it's 50 & 4 u only*14c*income*for*every*36c and it takes much time & also u dont sell resourses or trying not to use (it's raly use not waste) money to buy'em and since most people leave their pc for a night to sell stuff u get this money once in 24h. it's competition that spoils the fun and there's no way to remove it other than this restriction if u just try to communicate with other crafters u may persuade some of'em but there'll always be someone to start selling cheaper*to*sell*faster and after him there'll be people who'll see his prices and set the same ones or even lower. And no risinr resource drop woun't help*it'll make resorces cheaper but i'll make stones cheaper aswell. Well maybe alternatively there should be minimum & maximum prises but PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT it's realy annoying and right now the only reason why i'm crafting & not just selling resources is to raise crafting skill hoping that there'll be less competition for better stones.

I almost forgot about refining.


It really is a bothersome thing because of it's success rates.


When you reach level 20, buying a weapon is very hard to do because of it's overwhelming prices where your money can't even afford half of it.


Just a while ago, I became broke because 3 weapons broke when I upgraded it to +1. Who would be happy about that?


It's okay if it's easy to make money, but hell, I felt like quitting just that very moment.

Even more ideas (this time not so crazy)


1*In*party*menu i saw distribution if i got it right its loot distribution (isnt it?) but there are only 2 options. If thats loot distribution then it would be nice to see more options, and if it isnt then it would be nice to see loot distribution introduced into the game. (so far i'm soloing so i dont know what it is)


2*Macros*sistem*would*be*nice.*I*mean*both*chat*&a mp;*skill.


3*It*would*be*nice*(sorry*I*jammed)*to*see*option* to show camera angle on minimap rather then characters looking direction.


4 It would de even better if we could see it on big map.


5*And*even*better*to*be*able*to*move*by*clicking*o n*map *(i saw this in one mmorpg so it should be possible).
