I would sujest if your going to try to be a pure tanking mage, put 15 or so points int dex for evasion. should help a lot. make up the hp and def you loose from this by +9 an armor. You may eliminate the need for a tank in an aoe party

i dou'ed with a cleric around my lvl fighting red mobs just fine and I had no end in build at the time.

end in build only gives .5 def and 5 hp. end in armor gives 1 def and 5 hp. so i perfered the extra garanteed damage and relied on end/dex on my armors. at lvl56 with all +9 high end/dex armor with no charm, i have almost 800 def with my mage. 1200 def with charm. :)

in the long run i perfered 60 bonus 'garenteed' damage rather then 25 extra def and 250 hp (which you can get with a vit1 scroll almost). math time :P

lvl50 mage pure end
55 bonus stats in end
27.5 def + 275 hp

lvl50 mage pure int
55 bonus stats in int
66 bonus dmg

a def scroll and a vit scroll will solve 55 stat points worth of end and the pure int gives ya 66 more dmg. now you might be saying, "I like int in my armor instead of end/dex, thats why im doing end in my build". well, fyi, int in build gives you 1 dmg (and 1 more for every 5 points). int in armor gives you only .5 for each one and no bonus dmg per 5. This is why most mages are doing the pure int and end/dex armors.

Also, they dont do spr in armor becuase spr in armor only gives some 1 m.def and 5 sp. well, mages naturally have high m.def and high sp. So imho, its better to do the end/dex way. and everyone will be calling ya nub if you had points in str ^^

all this said is from my personal experience. others might argue differently but this way is the best way that I can see, and since I am a pvp mage, I did 25 spr in my build for that bonus crit %. (crit in pvp = death to all, without crit, you cant kill easily). :)

In my opinion, sure you'll end up with +8.25 Block %, +57.5 DEF, +575HP, (if you really do only END and nothing else,) but I think for a mage it's more important to just kill things before they come to you rather than to take the hits. That's why the class survives. They're powerful.

id say that end mage is a nice idea specially for pvp
but still at higher lvls no matter how many points u put on a mage's end it wouldnt help a lot

a vit + def scrolls should do the same effect. tha thing is is it better to go on all int or 25spr rest int?

Well, past calculations done in here, I have taken theory and applied it into practice. I am a partially full END mage (partially because 5 INT points were allocated mistakenly when I was much younger and a bit more foolish). Currently, I am Lv. 34 with 766 natural HP (1196 with equipment on, +200 of T1 scrolls, +410 of cleric's buff when available, for a total of 1.8k). 64 innate defense (236 w/equips +29 from T1 scrolls = 265), 79 evasion (190 from equips+ 32 from T1 scrolls= 222). Those numbers out of the way, let me compare myself with a few mages I've partied with, regardless of level difference.

At Lv. 30, I could solo red bosses to me fairly comfortably (Ghost Slime, Bored/Fox). I could solo AoE 3-4 orange monsters, and manage to use 2 stones and perhaps 1 potion (t1) per mob. With a cleric, I can pretty much AoE anything nonstop that's orange or low reds (no, I won't walk into CP). I got the pleasure to party with another mage at Lv. 31 to help her with Bored Foxes and Fox (while she was 37), she could not take damage practically at all. Though, truth be told, I've partied with mages 3-5 levels younger than me, and surely enough, they can kill things before they get to us. But heavens forbid they get hit. Hence they are called "glass cannons".

At any rate, had I to restart from scratch, I'd do it again exactly. The build is much too fun. I don't have godly weapons, or +9s. I made my own +6 Lv. 15/20 weapons through trial and error. My equipment cost me less than 20s a piece, and they are all high in END.

Now, about you wanting to be better than any other class, let me put a few warning points for your road...

*Compared to fighters, you will have lower defense/HP, especially if they use a shield. However, I've found that if they are without a shield, your defense might come close to it. Otherwise, they do have another piece of equipment to get END from, besides their innate shield defense and shield block rate.
*Against archers, sure, you may be able to throw more stuff at them, but their damage overtime is still their main selling point. Besides that, DEX will make sure they hit the target, and don't get hit back (as often) in return.
*Other mages, like I said. Glass cannons. There's a really good saying about mages, and that is that "If they can't hit you, 1 HP is more than enough." So most mages plan on getting hit maybe 2-3 times by their enemies before it gets to them. Me? I walk right into a mob of 3-5 and use possibly the same stones/potions a glass cannon would use in 1-on-1 combat.

To wrap it up, depending on your idea of "power", you might be, you might not be. If your idea is of killing everything pretty quickly, INT/SPR might be for you. My idea of "power" has to deal with the freedom I gain from not having to rest every other monster, but every other mob, or not being deeply dependent on clerics. I kill half as fast as other mages, maybe slower. That, of course, incurs extra damage done to me. But taking 50 dmg when they pick up 120+, that's definitely a nice thing to have. Besides, we have too many INT/SPR mages. So it is up to you if you want to undertake END training. Don't do it just to be more powerful than _____, but to have fun and experience something different. That was my take on it, and I am sure glad I did.

hi i,m pure end mage all weapons and armour have high end and dex boost i have more hp than mania but i have tanked Marlone,GoldDigger,and Zombie King and i did fine lol

and the end has helped me from dying so often like none end mages hehe

Once I figured the extra int stats really dont help at all I went shopping for +9 armors... my 500 def mage can tank orcs long enough to kill without kiting and even then I dont take that much dmg so I am very happy.
