either i go disciple at 66

or go cleric at 66

i know i have longed to be a cleric for such a long time now but having seen the priests and the holy avengers, my mind is no longer firm on this matter.

Templar indeed does look good, and there's quite a few of them which was one of the main reasons i wanted to be a cleric (there used to be onl around 20 of them, now maybe 50 ZOMG!).

so what are my benefits of turning disc and what are the bad aspects?

i'm still leaning towards cleric btw, maybe a 75% propensity to be cleric and 25% disciple.

One thing. Isn't disciple achievable at level 45?

Disciple-rank is at level 45 or higher. You can't convert once you become a Cleric.(Which means 66-150)

You have to think through this, bob. Do you want to give up healing and buffing and go out and fight and do part time supporting with Assist Heal and Great Sphere?
Do you want to give up Major Heal and Revive for this?

The Disciple offers independance in combat because of its lover AH, but you trade in for having lower firepower than others. You have selfbuffs(Protection and Brace up), you get an odd "stun" in form of Time Shield, a ranged stun from Burning Hands.

Eurosia, the semi-useful mp-buff. You get access to AoE at level 66, and another one at Templarhood. Downside? Less skills, you will only get improvement skills upon Holy Avenger, use the same attack skill through the classes, with some change with the stun-attack you get.

I had this same problem when I hit brick wall on my way to rogue, whether I should go scout and be done with it or not...

I think it comes down to this: do you prefer being the tank, or do you prefer to help? Being the tank makes you less dependent on others and parties, but obviously you run into a much greater risk since you're charging head-on into battle. Being a helper means you're basically forced to find a party, but that means you can find a more supportive and protective sphere to help you level...

So basically: are you the solo type, or the party type? xD

the last sentense explaines it all xD good simplefying

@ the first two ppl: I know i can be disc anytime, i would just do it when i get higer lvl so i can aoe right away.

well its just that recently i havent had much time playing so i have been lagging MAJORLY with my lvl..

its always 'HEY i would love to party u guys but i cant stay very long'

so i was thinking with these little time intervals i can lvling as a disciple.

but over the long run i really like parties. Clerics are awedome but infortunately those palafins and priests are not very attractice to me.

(Neither is a disciple btw- so srry guys, personal opinion)

Both clerics and templars look GOOD.

so yeah, the problem right now is how much i get to play and with so little time what can i do?

PS. o yeah, and my party just got me killed a bunch of times so i stopped T_T
4 hrs gone down the drain T_T

.

The paranthesis, not sure if ur referring to clerics as more but ya theres a ton of them out there. FYI, theres only 10 Templars in game atm and lots of disciples on there way there. Which is actually good. But templars are more rare than clerics. And Clerics gets pick more into partys than Templar, but i heard from a few that its hard to get a party since so many clerics to compete from. But since u have a little time to level i would go disciple so u can go solo and leave whenever u want.

i picked disciple primarily because i do not want to have to depend on my parties.. its my main char and i am very happy with it...

sure i don't do as much damage as a squire but i dont need clerics/acos to heal me

sure my heal is not as good as a cleric's but i dont need any damage dealers to get better exp

main point is, i dont depend on others.. sure a party can make things easier for me but i am happy with or without one...

plus if i die i have nothing to blame but myself (maybe lag.. =p)

P.S. i still have an aco though.. for cleric.. but i dont play it as much i just use it to get pet items atm.. ^_^

As was already said...it boils down to two ways of fighting...soloing-go Disc or Templar, partying-go Cleric

With me I guess I've played 96% of this game soloing, so the Disc just seems to fit me good. I can make a whole lvl not getting killed but when I join parties I'm always getting wiped out simply because I'm more worried about trying to watch the other persons back and keeping them alive...besides when I solo and come across someone else out in a map by themselves I always throw in a buff as I go running by :p

i always die at least once per lvl ever since i hit disc.. T_T whether i solo or not.. in any case.. i think you need more money to play disc though coz of the gears and such...

for aco/priests you dont need as much since youre not supposed to get hit.. ^_^ you probably only need a good cane..

out of all the classes,aco/cleric uses the least pots if in a party,n armors dont matter much,i also think the weapon doesnt matter too as aco dont need really high int,coz if aco hav thier int 75+(put points into int) ,they will heal more than my hp amount....400hp+

I disagree, aco's use just as much pots as any other, even sometimes more.
And no, we wont heal more than 400hp even with 75 INT, that amount would probably only heal about 300hp - dont exagerate it^^
A good weapon is good for any class, the +1 and above makes the cane allowing us to have more mp, and a better heal.

I use 300 mp pots per 1% o.O(not aoe), i dont think so, acos have more mp and that is why they dont need much mp pots.

Ahahaha, well that's the main reason i disagree with putting stats into WIS, it would give you a good start in the beggining but then you'll have to use pots anyways, it doesnt heal mp any faster nor do anything that gives more mp except the extention of how much mp you can have. We DO need a lot of mp pots^^

The problem is a potion still heals the same amount, assuming in game bought ones it's 20 mp whether you have 30 total mp, or 3000. Having higher mp really only gives you a buffer zone where you can get a few spells off before using potion. Really though what determines pot spam is how much a spell costs and how often you use it. For solo aco hurts cause illusion quake(I don't know what higher stuff does but quake is all you got till 56) is really low damage and second only to app in mp cost. Aco has some advantages off app, that's the worst pot spammer but in a party the lowest pot user(that sounds funny) has to be squire or neo, come on their main abilities are 2 mp.

well thanx all i figure i have waited this long and worked this hard to become just another disciple..

I soloed mostly when I played regurlarly, CB and OB. Could party once in a while and cast AH, but mostly I beat up stuff alone with my big sack of mp pots. ;o

Being a Disciple isn't more special than being any other tier 1, mind you don't compare the lower tier with the higher one.(Disciple is tier 1 like any other, or can any tier 2 buy gear from NPCs now for some reason?) If you want numbers, the templars are the smallest to sheer size.

BTW, eat more pasta, keeps you up longer, shining. Pollutance doesn't like narcoleptic soldiers. XD

Primary it was because I never took a break from SoS , except for Christmas, but also because I felt how the lag became more than what I could take on my usual maps when I levelled.

I even noticed my lag was bigger in parties bigger than four, which were comparable with Eir-parties where I always lag.

If I wanted to become a Disciple at lvl 45, what stats would be beneficial for me? So far I've seen so many different ones and I'm confused as to which one to try for.

there were a few comments made about putting all your points into pwr and at lvl 51 start working on your sta 4 more hp

Discs should go pow/sta in my opinion. im an aco but when i pt with discs, their lack of decent hp makes me have to heal them even after just one hit,

i have the require 4 sta for an aco but i seem to take more hits than some discs i know (same dmg, just more hits) o.O;;;

Disciple is fun, because half the time i was an Aco, i hardly get parties. I was thinking: "ppl don't like me!!!x.x"
So after i hit 45, i went Disc, and i tell you this. It took me 2 months from 40-45 soloing with little parties. However, it took me 2 weeks to get from 45-51. (inserts O.o)
With the help of Time Shield, i find even lving in Belt is rather easy now. Yes, i spent almost 1mil on a +1/ap6 armor, but i can take quite a beating with it and live on.
So Disciple just rules in possibly everything, but not to the extremes.

It does get a bit lonely from time-to-time but I have very little time to play as well. Thats what decided me to go my current path and it has worked out. The parties are fun but, by the time you get it together, keep everybody together, and waiting for potting, etc, you could have lvled by then. If you grind enough by yourself and don't die you will lvl in no time.... :)
