I am of course referring to the Easter Bunny Event.

Was it just a ploy to get us to buy it ?

They may still be going over the results and such.
Though they may just be busy. I'd think work would come before a contest.
They were supposed to be announced last week or the week before, but there seems to be a delay of some sort. The winners will be announced when the Staff is ready to announce them. ^^

Where please ?

Shadowic2

I don't think it is posted up anymore.
They probably made it so, since the game itself is published by a company in the U.S. And they didn't want to deal with the costs of shipping something to other countries, or dealing with items going through Customs.

I was trying to find the thread but I cant find it aswell =/

But I know it was there because I remember talking to one of the OS Staff about it

... Is that legal ?

O.o. Posts are removed all the time to reduce congestion in the forums. Plus they probably removed it after the contest was over so no one would try to join and participate when it isn't even an active contest, since some people sometimes overlook the date and don't pay much attention. lol

I don't see why it would be illegal.

99,99% of the game publishers in the USA have that rule you know >_>

I do find that if we mgiht win, they should compensate with sparccash, but thats just me.

But lets say sombody not from USA gets 1st/2nd/3rd/30th place.

What would that person get ?

smitske

Hmmm... i checked out that link to the event that was provided and I didn't see any restrictions on a players location with regards to eligability to win

It did however say that staff are not elligable to participate.. that may be why they told you that you were not able to win centrix

smitske
04-16-2008, 06:00 AM
Centrix isnt staff, he's a volunteer so he is eligable, he isnt cause he lives in europe, ive read somewhere only US citizen get it else the mail prices would be to high ><(shipment costs)

Not that I joined the contest... but I couldn't find anywhere in the contest rules about non-American players not being able to join the contest...

EDIT: Like anmlink said :3

Again, centrix is not a staff member its just a volunteer.
Also there is a rule somewhere that its only for USA people, although it was a long ime ago i asked the Gms bout it.

TheCentrix

I live in Holland (europe) which means I could not win any offline prizes (such as an ipod)

It was written somewhere =/

I highly doubt if cost of shipment of ipod to any coutry over the world regardind todays Dollar course can be more as 100$.

One of the reasons I didnt bother with the comp was because it was only for US people. Pretty much all comps are like that. I'm in Australia so yer, it just wasnt going to happen for me. lol.

lets take that its 75$ just to make an easy theory that will be an example.

Now there are 30 winners in the event, weve got a lot of players from asia, europe, north america south america and ausralie, also a few in africa, now lets say I doubt if half the players is american (north) so lets take that 16 of those winners are outside of N-america
16*75=1200$
Now they hold this events(rough estemate) every 2/3 months(scavenger hunt is also one) Lets take it for 3 months thats 1200$*4=4800$, a year, well it prolly isnt so much money for a company but its profit based and every dollar counts.

Hmmm... you are correct and since fiesta is Free to Play such " hidden costs" of events will most likely ruin Outspark if they will let all participate...

makimachimisao

rather exaggerated number there.. there is a total of 32 winners - 2 ipods and then 30 premium shop items.

woudln't cost 75$ to ship an ipod internationally..not even for 2. and again..30 of the prizes are shop items, so no shipping is involved..

but , again this version is the north american version so in a way it's not surprising and i guess should be expected that it's limited to that demographic, unfortunatly for some.

smitske

well I dont know shipping cost so I just to a number.

Every free-to-play publisher (as far as i know) based in the USA, only allow residents from the USA to participate in these type of events, for the same reason smitske explained.

I havent seen any f2p publisher going global (unless they aim 100% for global players).

smitske

although I do think that instead they should give sparkcash or something, just my idea

Centrix you live in Holland? :O Thats one of the many places I want to go see! Next time you are in the US just pack me up in a suitcase and take me back with you! I'm little I can fit I am sure.... xD

As for the contest. I am anxiously waiting (and hoping) for the results. Sometimes delays happen so I'm not worried that Outspark is just gonna forget about us lol.

I believe one of the prizes was a Ipod or signed sweatshirt. Hm so if you had to pick which one would you guys go for? I think I want a Ipod more than another hoodie... :p

I so didnt know about the winners must come from america, thats a jack and a half. i cant see where they state that in the rules,

"You must have a connection to the internet and an e-mail account prior
to the first date of this event. The event is open to all persons registered with outspark.com." where does it say only in america???

True that , I bought THREEEEEEE sets because I thought I could win. And if IT WAS for people in America only , why didnt they state it in the contest rules and what not ?
