It all depends on your actions. The range can be anywhere because there is no point at where someone gets from noob to experienced. Be nice and friendly and try to do your own exp. making instead of stealing kills from others. This can all be done at level 10! So again there is no range from which a noob becomes experienced.

Being a noob or not has nothing to do with the person's level so I did not vote.

Noob - annoying people with no respect for others.

Newbie - a person who just joined the game.

Those two words are different.

Noob = ignorant person who knows nothing with no desire to learn

Newb = New person to the game who is willing to learn.

If you know the game, you are neither a noob or newb, if anyone calls you noob/newb ingame, they're either: Joking, or the noob/newb themselves ^_^

I would say by lvl 30.The people is no longer noobs.Cause base defense, weapons attack powers n watever stuffs. They should know how to handle themselves by then.

If they still dont...........noobs.

So my level 22 is a newbe?

52y/o retire eng, and have been a GM and helper in a few other games

Of course it could mean I also have a few 5x in this game to

So I did not vote either, it is the person, not the lvl that counts

Unless you want to say new to the game, and does not know it well?

Then everyone that thinks there is a solist survior winner is a newbe (it who you know and are teamed with). Today seen a sorry sight, about 6 live people that worked together, gave the event to a (yes high ranking) player. Really bad the GMs could do nothing, and annouced the deligated by live half dozzon team mates "winner" as the winner.

So today even the GMs were newbe's

Here's what I think..

The level doesn't matter. >.<

What if you've been reading a lot of things in the forum and already have a lot of info of the game and you've decided that you can now play because you know almost all of the stuf there is to know about SoS?

Don't judge a character by it's level, judge the character by it's player's experience and no, not experience points.

It still has nothing to do with a level even if you're a "newbie"

When I joined I was a newbie...but I learned rather quickly O.o

But if I make a lv 1 xenian...does that make me a newbie? Not if I know wth I'm doing!

That's what I'm trying to say. :D

By the way, we also can make alternate characters, and that wouldn't make us newbies! :p

i think lvl has nothing to do with how much of a noob you are, iv been playing for 2 weeks and i have two 2x apprentices, 38 neo and i still consider myself a noob because i dont know everything there is to know about the game in general.

duaane
04-17-2008, 10:56 PM
Yep thats the point the game developers do not know what to do (now third tier, let alone 4th)

38 neo and i still consider myself a noob because i dont know everything there is to know about the game in general.

As I said above the GMs were Newbe's yesterday

So no one is even mid level (120s) sure of anything, yes I are a Newbe too :D

this game doesn't require much skill. i've seen some level 60+ noobs. (and no, there is not much of a difference between newbie and noob. except noobs are usually much more dumb. deragatory term.)

playing more doesn't always mean you get better.

like others have said it all depends on the actions of the person that decides if you are noob or not.I also say that untill it is for certain a new person is a newb and not noob.

newbie is based on how much the played has learnt, not level

noob is also not based on level

Personally, I wouldn't say that there's really a specific level range before you turn into an experienced player from a ''noob''. All these things are really determined by your in-game actions.

Been a nub has nothing to do with your level I would say. Its relative in my opinion, a player level 100 could be super experienced, but there is always something new to learn, so even a level 100 can make mistakes. So to me u cant judge a nub by his level. Not even the GMs know everything about the game, and they work on it.

So its basically on how you look at it, to me, to not be a nub, you must be perfect.

... then again, it seems my perception of a nub, is a lot different than most people's. To me a nub is everyone and anyone, because well, we don't know everything, to most people a nub is a beginner that keeps doing random stuff, usually bugging high level people for help, then again, basically we all ask for advice don't we?

Your skill doesnt grow with your character's level

and SoS is a terrible game to test your skill as a player

You need FPS, strategy, or DOTA to test your skill

Before trying to distiguish at what level "noobdom" is removed from your community label, perhaps the better question is What distinguishes a Noob from a Non-noob?

I CHOOSE lvl 20-30 but its not about lvl that makes u noob or not. i mean u could be a lvl 1 and still know a ton of stuff about the game form reading gaing tons of info from the forums.really really whether a player is a noob or not really depends on the player and what hes feels is a noob lvl or not. it really differs with each player. like me for instance im a lvl 26 fighter i feel im not a noob anymore. but then again i know quite abit about to game so.............

Newbie refers to someone who is new to the game.
Now based on one's mental capacity and the rate at which they learn and assuming one where to look into the game and research the different classes, skills, stats, and basics before they even begin playing, they could start off the game and be past being a Newbie by level 5 or so, or however long it takes them to grasp the game fully.

Noob refers to the player being mentally hindered, not because of some defect in their anatomy, but because they refuse to learn, even when there are people around to give them advice, tips, help, and who are willing to work with said person.

So long as you have a willingness to learn, and will to succeed then you're never really a Noob, though you may still be a Newbie, simply because you are new.
