I am having the same problem.
Game freezes for a few seconds, and also I died alot of times because of that.(It happens to me almost every minute)
I'm 100% sure that my PC specs have nothing to do with it (I tried a P4 and a Pentium D. Currently i'm playing on a Athlon 64 FX-74, 3,00 GHz with 512mb GPU)
I do think it has something to do with my Router, since i always have problems with it. (Asus)
Are there specific ports that need to be open?

Hi Flapperbol,
Check your PM's, am sending you the port information.

@ metalm3 -
your specs look fine for the game, it sounds more like the lag you are getting could be related to your connection speed. We do sometimes need to make adjustments to our servers, this also could be related.
Does this happen only in Kings Quests, or just any time you are playing?
Also, as a habit, just make sure that any and all other applications on your system that access the internet are shut down while playing, especially chat or instant messaging programs.

I still have the lag :(
I tried what you said in the PM CatsClaw, but i still get the 5 sec freezes
My PC can handle the game fine,
my internet should be enough for the game (download = 8000 kbit/s, upload = 1500 kbit/s)
More suggestions what could be wrong??
(PS, it not only happens when i'm fighting. When i'm just walking arround i sometimes get teleported back 10 meters of something)

Problem could be related to ongoing work on our end. I'll see what else I can suggest after some more research. Sorry it is lagging so bad for you, though. =(

Could you folks just double-check your upload speed, download speed, and latency (ping)?
There are numerous site on the we to do this, try one of those or you can try Here ("http://www.speedtest.net/") ...just click the spinning yellow pyramid, and post back what it says for upload/download/ping.
This will give us an idea of what your connections speed at the moment may be. Remember that overall speed can vary on a daily basis, and even on an hourly basis, depending on many factors.

If you are using a cable company or anything with a "speed booster" "power booster" or other such things; your speed test will be inaccurate.
Looks like your using a lot of page file (otherwise known as virtual memory)... Thats both good and bad thing; depending on how it is setup.
I_AM_NOT saying that this is your problem, but it could help.
Virtual memory is a temporary storage of variables and other shifting information to your hard drive.* Normally these items would be stored into ram, and the hard drive is much slower than ram (you can however have a ram drive for virt mem..awesome.. but very expensive).
This could explain a stutter in a game (and has caused issues for me in the past, even with more than enough ram) as it will have to stop and pull old data from the hard drive.* A considerable task.. which will cause you to experiance a delay in performance.
*Something to look into, but only if your connection is good.*
Speaking of which, try calling your ISP and ask them to check your packet loss (if they can) from their service area.* If they cannot, you can ping an outgoing IP (say google or yahoo) and figure out what your packet loss is forward.. It'should be 0% or very very close.* I wouldn't worry about it too much if it's like 2%, but 4% I probably would.. yeah it's that serious.

well you all are talking about 5 sec lags...mine is a whole game lag>< at start every time i tried login in i had troubles and a lot of times i entered a map with no people in it (not even NPCs), after a while it was better because i have seen the people but they were froze, and every couple of minutes they moved a bit and that's it..the monsteres just move in their place, huping up and down (slimes..) but every time i try to attack them i see my archer "streaching" the string, i hear the sound of the arrow, but the archer is stuck in the streaching position and onlt moves if i make him to move to somwhere else. further than that, whenever I try to talk to someone the window apears only a minute or so after i actually pressed the talk buttun...
my computer is preety good, i never had such problams in online games..if you want i will check the whole speed RAM and so..for now i have only this link..
