archers bow or crossbow!?

i have a bow right now im a hawk archer so just wondering should i have picked crossbow


what i found is that crossbows and bows match every 3rd hit need some good advice power or speed


also where are the mara drill segents!

crossbow hits harder but slower, this is typically better against heavy armor in most rpgs.


The stat build of your character will make a lot of difference here as well;


for example if my archer were pure strength i'd go xbow

If you look at the damage on the crossbows then you pick the strongest one. That's what I did and I saw that the Crossbow was strongest

bow is better for soloing as u can hit faster but crossbows hit more

so for soloing a bow and for when u r in partys use a crossbow :)

Go out and try both. There is no better weapon. Choose the one that suits your playing style and go have fun =p

In terms of DPS, bow is better than an xbow.

However, at level 51, you will be spamming your poison AoE skill almost non-stop in a party, thus the attack speed is irrelevant, which means a higher damaging weapon will be your choice.

So, from level 1-50 go with a bow, from level 51 onwards, use xbow for skill spamming, if not, stick with the bow.

crossbows. Bows are indeed fast, but who carez about .2 sec? I mean, if u work out like 100hits and compare the difference of the attack rate, yeah, it's a big difference how many times u hit, but Crossbows are really better. It also depends what stat build u did. If u empowered attack power, it's bow. Cooldown, go for crossbow.

I use a crossbow when i'm kiting like in the abyss and the bow when i'm with a tank so i don draw too much aggro beacuse of crits, but now after i got my GoC bow i use it all the time :P

Ok heres my suggestion, most people will say that it all depends on your "Preference" I think that the type of weapon you use should be dependent on what level you are.

From the levels 1-50 you only have 1 AoE attack so I think its best to stick with the bow since you will most often be attacking one enemy at a time. The extra AIM and Speed is very good against 1 vs. 1 PvE.

From Levels 51+ YOU NEED TO USE THE X-Bow because at 51 you get Natures Mist your second AoE now when your in a party you ussually will always have one AoE to fire so to be effective use the X-Bow, because of its insane Crit rate, and unbeatable base damage. The AIM may be bad but who cares? you can buy an AIM scroll I think a Level 51 Archer can afford scrolls at 200c. As for the fact the X-Bow is slower then the bow THAT DOSNT MATTER EITHER you will be firing AoE after AoE there is going to be no single killing so dont worry about the speed your attack is.

And when you get to 75...you better never ever pick up another bow again because by 75 you have your 3rd AoE Disease AoE. Now you will always have an AoE to fire so there is no reason to use the bow in a party.

Now if your a soloer and all you do is solo. Use the Bow because its better at killing enemys sepratly. But Archers are a party class so to be more effective use an X-Bow.

i got a str end and spr build seems to spread out to most people but what ive seen in my game play when i used a lvl 40 bow and xbow the xbow hit 100 and the bow hit 80 on an ogre the xbow seemed alittle to slow for my taste so im bows all the way also a bow is very effective for the lvl 60 job change 1 last thing i agree with darth the angel wings on a bow look far better -^_^-

Crossbows are 110% better than bows.
The fact is, you will almost NEVER be using regular attacks, but skills.
Your skill cooldown is independent of the weapon you use.
You'll likely being using Mist/Multishot all the time, so best to go to crossbow for more damage and more crit rate.
The only plus side to bows is that they look better.
Use one only if you find a blue :P.

i like both... bows hit faster but the xbows are more powerful. It is really up to what kind of archer you want to be and what the stats are like.

You guys failed to address one thing as well...the difference in damage when both are +9.

+9 CrossBow's damage increase is way more than the damage increase on a +9 Bow.

tbh +9 does absolutly nothing for arcehr weapons ( idc if people say they do cause they dont grrr) and with an archer bows are better for an aoe pty or tanking cause the skill speed for the animation is faster but for kiting the xbow is better cause the aoe animation is faster and u dont have the action flinging back

Anyways. I actually noticed, while playing on an 8x archer, that my blue bow +0 actually won me more fights in PvP than my +9 lv 70 GH xbow. o-o. Oh well. I still think bows are sexy, but xbows are THE way to go at 5x+. Yeah.
