That little bar when gathering/mining?

When you "attack" the vein or the mushroom or the flower, etc. that little bar comes up underneath and the meter moves left to right with a vertical line at some random point on the bar. What is it?

when the bar in anglined with the yellow line you get the herb without waiting
but that feature isnt out yet

It's the gathering bar. If you hit the yellow bar just as the other one crosses over it then you should be able to gather the mats from the mine able-object more quickly. Though I'm uncertain if it's bugged again or not. :x

So it's doesn't have anything to do with what comes out of it, right? Or do I get a better find if I click on the line?

Nope, it doesn't effect what comes out it just determines how long it takes for you to mine/gather the said items from whatever it is that your mining.

This feature was out... until the Valentine Patch (I think... or was it the Easter one?) bugged it, and now we can't use it anymore... >.>

You click the yellow bar when the green bar hits it, and it should end your gathering. lol. It's been glitched for awhile now. Outspark fixes it, then releases a new patch that breaks it again. XDDD

Nope, it doesn't effect what comes out it just determines how long it takes for you to mine/gather the said items from whatever it is that your mining.

That's odd, because I've noticed several things with that bar. One, if the yellow line is on the left, I tend to get more items, either from the mushrooms or flowers or even the ore. If the bar is to the right, I get fewer items. Two, if the bar is to the left, I always get something. If the bar is to the right, sometimes I get nothing. Three, if the bar is to the left, I tend to get better items (like topaz in the ore) where as if the bar is to the right, I tend to get basic items).

Maybe it's a fluke, but I've been watching it for a few days, and picked up that pattern.
