View Full Version : Trouble connecting to servers/world servers.

I posted this in GAMEPLAY but I feel that it may have been a bad place for it so I am repeating it here.

Often when I try to play the game the message 'unable to connect to
world server' pops up and no menu appears.* From here only an alt F4
closes the game.

*Also often when the server select menu does appear and I select the
server the message often returns 'unable to connect to server' (or
something similar) and from that point furthur attempts to connect
return no message at all and seems to not even be trying to connect.*
Restarting the game will allow another attempt which sometimes solves
the issue and allows me enterence into the game.

Now in both cases I look to the webpage here and find that the latest announcement says the servers are running fine.*

*So I guess my questions are:* Do these servers often go down or is
it an issue with my system?* Could a button be placed within the game
that allows it to shut down if no menu appears (which would really help
anybody who is no computer literate)? Finally, Is it an issue to be
able to attempt to re-connect to the servers from the server select
menu if it has failed once already?

Thank You!

Our servers are up most of the time, and for any downtime we are anticipating we post a message in the forums.

It sounds like one or possibly two issues are causing the "partial connectivity" you are getting. It could be that something else on your system is running that accesses some of the same ports on your connection that Fiesta uses, or that perhaps not all of those ports are open. There could be other issues, but let's start with those.

As a rule, especially when troubleshooting an odd issue, the more things running on your system at the same time, the greater the chance for strange problems. Just make a habit of checking the Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) under the Applications tab, and temporarily shut down anything you see listed, then try any given program (Fiesta in this case) again.

If this alone does not help minimize or eliminate the problem, check your PM's, I am sending you some further information.
