I don't understand why we can't use 'curse' words in game. Why is it that we can't say a simple word but yet we see a very revealing NPC [Pey] and one of the quest ingame is where you find items for a some boyfriends hangover because he drank a lot. You say you're a kids game but yet you have some suggestive themes ingame.
*Also, I don't see the point in a word filter. The people who complain about cussing are stupid. Even with the word filter you know what was meant to be there. Example: **** you. Oh, wow, I can never guess what I orginally meant to say. Because you know, word filters do a great job at making sure you can't see this naughty word. I guess he just meant to put those asterisk there for looks. Little Timmy is saved another day from having his whole childhood being corrupted. Because looking at half naked cartoon women in a game and doing quest to solve a boyfriends hangover isn't going to offend anyone.

(1) this is not a kids game it is a family friendly game big difference
(2)Whats the big deal about pey? If you want to see scantily clad women just look around they are everywhere, at the beach on billboards in magazines in commercials even in the childrens programming on TV you will find worse then pey. there is no sense saying that doesn't belong.
(3) I will admit that I was a little suprised about the quest for the hangover cure but again it is a common part of our lives and it does not endorse drinking as long as the quest is not to find alchohol so they could go and get drunk then I dont see a problem.
(4)Again curse words are used all around us everyday little timmy cant help but already know them the asterisk's act as a reminder that they are bad and he is not suppose to use them this is as much as a parent can ask for. I dont like swearing without a very good reason I have been on games without word filters and it makes a difference having them blocked I dont know why but it does.
BTW ppl who use curse words are just ignoramuses that cant think of better words.

what about the phinophiles.. and the phinos that say harder and faster?

Lol I was wondering what kind of reaction I would get :D
If little timmy gets the implication of that then his parents need to put a block on the playboy channel or put some sound proofing in there bedroom walls,*and it's already to late for his innocents anyways. again I'll say if they are old enough to understand that then that is mild compared to what he hears everyday and it doesn't matter.

*Oh so true words. Like every person says that. And every person that does is ignorant and can't think of his/her own saying. Maybe they aren't intelligent enough to understand what they are saying themselves. I'm sure you got a masters in the english language and know over a billion words. You keep a theasurous by your side, dont ya? Just so you can find another word that will do.

I bet the whole family can get behind revealing women and hearing about some abusive boyfriend drinking. He probably hits her at night and rapes her. THIS IS SOMETHING THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN ENJOY. Now sit and spin.

QFT.
Just because someone swears doesn't mean they "aren't intelligent enough" to think of something else. GUESS WHAT! NOT EVERYONE FINDS A WORD OFFENSIVE. Getting offended by, or thinking a word is "bad" is just completely idiotic. But this is a game which children can access, and there'd be lots of trouble and less profit for Outspark if they didn't filter it.

Ay, and as for my masters in english.. Not so much.. but I do enjoy word play.. even if it is almost exclusively words that do not exist!
I do have a thesaurus by my side for a matter of fact, though mostly for when I actually write poetry. Honestly I am not exactly sure why, I mostly use online resources these days.. but no matter.
However, the majority of the time I do not care to ponder nor waste time with the way my words flow. I speak plainly, and get some joy out of speaking in a manner that makes those around me more comfortable, be it through slightly altered speach patterns or slang.. Though I don't hardly think about it.. it is all very automatic..
As for my formal education, it is in physics, robotics and engineering.. Not nearly an english major, and i still have a while to go.

OK, "masters in English." This is only one part of your post that I will point out but it gets my point across pretty well.
"Though I don't hardly think about it.. it is all very automatic.."
"Don't hardly" would mean you think about it quite a bit. I suppose my High School education is sufficient to beat down some one trying to pass themself off as an English major. ;] The truth is Literature is my home, I don't need a masters to call you less intelligent in that line.

Alright alright, I might of been a little harsh it was just something my mother used to say to me when I was a kid to keep me from swearing. Lol sorry if it offended you.
And you are right Lunelune not everyone finds a word offensive but some, like me, do find it a little offensive and dont want to hear it' so please show a little consideration for those around you who still consider a curse word*to be*a curse word and not force us to listen to something we dont like.
curse words have their place I do use them on occasion I just dont think they have a place in everyday conversation.

*laugh* as if knowing the quirks of a language makes you any more intelligent than anyone else.
And I never tried to pass myself off as anything close to an english major.
*
As for the whole double negative thing, you will find that one half of the college community thinks one way about it.. while the other another..* The old ways of the language are dead, and you are just trying to utilzie a tool to make yourself feel better.
It certainly doesn't make you any more comfortable with life.

Just to clarify I am a construction worker that only made it to grade 6 in school I never claimed to be intellegent for I am most definitely not.
Just as a side note I hear more curse words walking by a school yard than I'll hear all day on most construction sites (and construction workers are suppose to be some of the worst) I'll admit the old language is being fazed out in some area's and age bracket's but it is far from dead.

Grammar*
Oh wait, lemme guess...Half of college thinks it's grammer? Well, not everyone in college is an intelligent being. That shouldn't be a surprise for any one.
And I'm perfectly comfortable with life. :]
