For clarification’s sake I have separated the Helpful links from the forum rules. Please take the time to read the items below before making a post.

They are mostly common sense but we do ask that you follow them nonetheless in an effort to keep these boards enjoyable and pleasant for all.

*

1 When posting your own thread, please be as specific and clear as to what it is you are attempting to say and/or ask. Refrain from using ”1337” speak if you can so other people may better understand and assist you with your needs.

*

2 In order for the Community Leaders and OutSpark Administrative Staff to moderate the threads on these forums, all posts/threads must be in English.

*

3 Always be courteous and respectful to others; refrain from any dialogue or activity which may be considered flaming, trolling, or harassing in any manner. If you feel someone is flaming, trolling or harassing you, please do not respond directly but rather bring it to the attention of a Community Leader or GM via Private Message. We will review and address the issue at hand.

*

4 Please refrain from creating “flame” threads. Although each member is expected and encouraged to share their personal opinions, a certain level of respect must be maintained, both towards your fellow former, and OutSpark and its affiliates. If you disagree with an aspect of the game and wish to discuss it, please do so, but do so civilly and with the understanding that, while some people may share your views, others will not. Each point of view is just as important and valid as the next.

*

5 Political and Religious-themed threads are not allowed. If users wish to have a conversation regarding personal political or religious beliefs, please do so privately. Any and all threads on either of these topics, in any sense, will be closed without warning.

*

6 Please refrain from using profane language and acronyms, or posting profane images. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in post/thread deletion.

*

7 There will be no abuse of the reputation system on these forums. Cross repping or “spamrepping” is not permitted. Reputation points are to be given for posts/responses which deserve the rep points, positive or negative. Persons found abusing the reputation system will be subject to penalty included, but not limited to, infractions against their account and the removal of accumulated rep points to date.

*

8 Links in posts and/or signatures are allowed only if they are not sending people to 3rd party advertising sites or are related to/advertising other games. Links to OutSpark-related pages (Fiesta/Secret of Solstice) yes, anything else, no. If a link is questionable or suspicious, it will be deleted. The general rule of thumb is, if you have to question it, don’t post it.

*

9 DO NOT post personal information, including emails, MySpace links, etc. on the forums.

*

10 Prior to creating a new thread, please use the search function to see if a similar if not identical thread already exists (see above). Multiple-type threads will be subject to merging and/or deletion.

*

11 When creating a thread, be sure to create it in the most appropriate forum. i.e. if you are asking about a particular Fiesta quest, you should post it in the Quest Discussion thread (http://www.outspark.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=85), if you want to know what events are going on in the Secret of the Solstice, check out the Events Forum (http://www.outspark.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=45) If a thread is created in an inappropriate forum it will be subject to a manual move to the correct forum and/or closure and deletion.

*

12 When engaging in a thread, please try to stay on-topic as much as possible. If the discussion wanders to far from the original topic without evidence of being put back on track, the thread may be subject to closure and/or deletion.

*

13 The original thread creator as the right to request a thread closed and/or deleted at any time for any reason. In fact, the original thread creator has the ability to delete their own thread by deleting their initial post. An author has the ability and right to delete their own post at any time for any reason.

*

14 Community leaders and OutSpark staff reserve the right to moderate, close and/or delete any post or entire thread they feel violates any one of these posted rules or constitutes a violation against the Terms of Service (http://www.outspark.com/legal) each of you agreed upon when creating your account with OutSpark.

*

15 There will be no blacklisting of persons or groups by name on the forums. If you feel someone has committed a violation please report it to the appropriate persons for processing, either a CL, CSR or GM. If you are unsure of whom to report, send your report to a CL and we will route it to the most appropriate OutSpark staff member. Any and all threads, comment or posts listing an individual or group (guild, etc.) by name will be subject to deletion.

*

16 "Favorite" poll threads concerning community leaders or Outspark staff are not permitted on the forums in any form. Although we, the CL team, and Outspark staff fully appreciate the community's support and goodwill, we do not permit threads or polls which could incite competition within the staff and amongst the users.

As I said, these are the more basic items that, if followed and respected, will lead to everlasting peace and enjoyment in these forums for all. I have found a simple rule to live by – so much so I have made it part of my signature. “Don’t raise your voice. Improve your argument”

I hope this will help to guide many although, as I have already stated, most of you using these forums unconsciously follow these simple rules already. If you do, kudos! If you are new, welcome!

If you have any questions about rules of conduct on the forums or the conduct of its members, please do not hesitate to PM one of us or a GM directly.

On behalf of the Community Leader team,

Serric.
