Hello I just started to play the game becasue it looked fun, and boy it is fun. I also played flyff(fly for fun, look it up), and I have realized that it has ALOT of similarity. Do anyone agree, I mean the objective of the game, the chars, the chars builds and so on or so similar. The only thing I think is different is the flying sytem and the graphics. Do anyone agree there similar?

Addressing similarity points you made:

Objective of the game: Of course it's similar, all MMORPGs are. Level up your character by fighting AIs, gathering wealth, fighting other players, it's all the same basic objectives.

The Characters: The same character classes have been repeated in countless RPG games before, it's not just these two MMORPGs.

The Character Builds: Again, strength, endurance, intelligence, and so on are all used in countless RPG games, and aren't limited to just these two games.

In the end, all MMORPGs are very similar, and a more appropriate topic title would be "Comparison to every RPG ever made."

I cant give similarities but I can sure give you distinctions:

-Ever heard of too much of a good thing is a bad thing? That's the case with Flyff. Excellent original graphics and widescape land. The problem is...the widescape land itself. The town is soo huge, you get lost easily. I remember playing Fiesta for the first time and it only took me an hour and a half to memorize well Roumen.

-Quests access dificulty. This is where I love Fiesta. The moment I lvlup, it tells me the name of the person who needs my help and where are they.

-Map viewing difficulty. In regards to accessing npcs, all I have to do in Fiesta is press m, switich the grids and locate that exclamation mark. In flyff, all i get is tiny blue or pink dots or whatever

-Lvlup difficulty. i have never played an rpg where it takes one hour to go from lvl 9 to 10. Ludicrous. In addition, the xp rate is not even worth the mob your killing urself for. (example: im lvl 12. Im fighting a lvl 14 monster that requires me to heal after 4 hits. I get only .4% from killing it afterwards.)

This is my report. Feel free to correct this if im wrong.

o m g. flyff.
never going back.

ever since gm chris left, the game died so i heard, glad i left it a little before that. the only thing really fun about flyff is cw, which isn't even for everyone, only the higher lvls, and those in a good guild.

i haven't played another mmorpg with things such as kingdom quests, where the game automatically organises the event and you get warped in automatically. those are heaps fun. i'm not saying there isn't another mmo out there, but i know flyff doesn't have this.

the bosses in flyff were fun, but 1 boss of each kind is just a little annoying, the respawn time was long, the campers were many (hello giant crane anyone?). i know that this has changed ages ago, where now crane is not the only boss that drops good rings and things, but it wasn't that fun.

i love going around in a party and killing the bosses (king marlone, zombie king, ggk, etc etc), and there's plenty there for everyone.

the only similarities, would probably be the audience age group, the graphics, and the genre. as in, cute, colourful, all fantasy and nothing too serious, no blood and guts. the ratio of the characters body parts are similar also (not realistic, but not chibi chibi like maple story for eg).

/thread XD

Fiesta is like a P2P version of flyff, yet it's F2p....Meaning, there's so much more content and originality. Once you play a game created and run by competent people, you tend not to go back to ones that aren't.

I played it, never really like the gm's cause they actually never did a thing, I left after 6 orso, new skill system I hated it.

Well this game has some scenery rip offs from flyff like the floating zepplin.

I had a ranger there.

Fluyff last big update(the one with the new skill system) was the biggest flop ever, the new dungeon was junk, the skill system went from awsome to ordinary, and the community wasnt good at all.
Lots of arguements because the staff had banned some highly appreciated members without any good reasen.

But this game will end the same way as that.

Yeah I left when they announced a new skill system.

GM's were super boring, only giving attention to people they know... when you have a question they were like: "cant you see im having fun with <insertnamehere>?"

ye the gm's sucked a lot, flyff went downhill fast.

Thing with fiesta is, I hate skill system ><.
Only good Flyff thing was the old skill system, graphics in fiesta are the same, classes were better in flyff, here lvl 60+ is same as lvl 20+ not much to it

They version before the new skill system and when Chris lefted was the reason I lefted and many people did to. They game is very stupid and not even fun anynmore to be taking up so much gibabytes.

Worthless now if you ask me.

Fiesta > Flyff

I played flyff once too till lvl 5x and its too boring. >_>

If you think Flyff is boring and still level up to level 5x in it, you must be crazy. Leveling at level 10 was already so extremely slow in Flyff that I already quit by then.

In Fiesta I got at least up to level 38.

The only thing that really makes Fiesta special are the KQs really. Otherwise it's just a generic MMORPG (the Outspark team is quite good, though). Flyff on the other hand had nothing that really made it special except maybe flying but you need to be level 15 to even get that and I got bored far beforehand.

I personally could play those KQs for years, just keep playing them without any real long-time goal. In the end the only thing that made me quit Fiesta was that I never got into a KQ anymore because Gold Hill was too crowded and I didn't really feel like doing anything else other than KQs because all my friends stopping playing as well (they went back to playing RO) and doing the quests without a party wasn't fun at all (not to mention that it was impossible to get the kill on bosses).

Yea KQ's is what Flyff will never have

I must say neither game has my full attention atm...Fiesta was and still is a great game and I love all my friends in it, but it is such a freaking grindfest at 60+ and the KQs get EXTREMELY boring after doing them 100+ times...FlyFF on the other hand is more like SoS than Fiesta except not being exclusively click-move. At this time I am playing FlyFF and not Fiesta, but I don't see myself getting much past 60, though I do have everything planned out all the way through lvl 120 and maybe through hero XD Really the only things about FlyFF I don't like atm are the fact that it too is a grindfest, though I haven't worn out all of the fun things yet, and the the otehr thing I don't like is I have no friends to talk to...it doesn't help the majority of the lowers on my server are idiots...

:)<----Baby player for MMORPG

Sorry guys i havent played any other MMORPG than Fiesta and i have seen lots of others in Video and i just didnt like them ....

Wait ....i remember now my bro installed 3 games at the same time .....

Fiesta

WoW(demo)

Tales of Pirates

I began to play fiesta cus the graphics caught my attention...(i was looking a for a anime type of MMORPG)
i was a fan of .HAck so i wanted to play one

i played the demo of WoW the story was cool and i liked it but then it began to be to complicated and the P2P didnt helped....
Then Tales of Pirates which was lame.....sorry i just didnt like it.....camera movement made me cry...chars were ***... and i quitted.....then i saw my first KQ ...

I was OMG killing all those monters....then i saw my First fighter cus my bro was playing and he was already lvl 15 and i didnt start anything...

We decided on Teva because something just called us to play in there and when i saw my first Fighter in cool armor "Falcomist" when i was lvl three i said this is my game :P sorry but i havent found any other game worth my time...and with other cool comunity than this one...

i played Flyff for a while-it's even worse when it comes to "grinding" levels:
just for fun, i did some calculations: at .4% per kill you'd have to kill 250 monsters to level-higher levels in Flyff would have to kill several thousand!
on the other hand, Flyff's flying system made it easier to get around-and you won't need to worry about running out of fuel.
on the OTHER hand, Fylff has NO non-combat skills; unless you count the "item vacum" thing they added recently, and it's horribly boring-designed for afk use, apparently.

Dude...at lvl 70 I think it takes more than 1k mobs to lvl here in fiesta, and those are dungeon mobs. The only thing I really don't like about FlyFF atm is the party system...it is far too complicated for my tastes...

You can't really compare how bad grinding is by just calculating the number of monsters per level. There are way more factors to it. The most obvious is "how long does it take to kill one monster?".

I mean if there's a game where you need 1000 kills to level up, but the battles are fast paced and fun, there are lots of quests you can do at each level, there are special features (like KQ) that give you exp and are fun as well, then grinding isn't bad at all in that game.

On the other hand if there's a game where you only need 100 kills per level, but you only get one new skill every 5 levels and there are hardly any quests or special features, then the grinding is much worse.

Either way, all MMORPGs are about grinding to begin with. I've played more than 100 MMORPGs by now (yes I'm quite old already) and in every single MMORPG forum people complained about exp being too low. Sometimes I agree with them, sometimes I don't agree with them (like: what the hell I wasn't even able to finish all the quests before I leveled and those people still complain that they need 'a whole' 4 hours to reach level 10?).

Granted I'm not a big fan of grinding either, but unless some game designer finds a better solution to get people to play the same game for several years I guess we're stuck with that.

Honestly I'd say, if they'd remove leveling completely in Fiesta and only kept the KQs in (like you just choose one between all and your character strength gets a fixed level for just that one KQ without having to grind or anything) then the resulting game would actually be a totally awesome game I'd rate A+++. However it won't get me to play it longer until I did each KQ 10 times (which doesn't make the game worse, there are in fact games that are only 5 minutes long and still genius masterpieces).

In Flyff you can kill monsters in 3 - 8 seconds BUT....The drop rate is nearly nilch, they hit super hard; 1/3 of your life usually, and as was mentioned you have kill like thousands of each mob to gain 1 stinking level. To make a small comparison...At level 90, you get 10% per hour. You can theoretically go to lvl 179...Sounds fun! =)

Last year was terrible for MMOs, everything released was a WOW cookie cutter grind-fest.

Actually I Play FlyFF i have Many of chars my main ones are lvl 81bp and 71 rm. But Yes yes Grinding is a pain... but if you find the right people to party with you level alot faster than what you think.

But Dont get me wrong I do play Fiesta, not very often though.. it kinda started to tick me off. I couldnt figure half the crap out and i had to hit every key to find out what i was doing.

See i play Fiesta, FlyFF, SilkRoad, even a window rpg Gaia, and chat game IMVU. each of them have different levelings, movements, and game play. You just have to pick and choose of what style you like. Most of you Like this game Fiesta. I prefer FlyFF. But I still Play this game anyways ^.^
