#1 Bad word translation from another language to English Use Webster dictionary!
#2 Fix code /path/ animation Bugs that exist before adding new animation/artwork/graphics.
Alot of other mmos have not done this* and the consumer is left with a game full of bugs.
#3 Hire a full staff of customer support that are trained well.
#4 Alot of MMos hire game developers who have no experience. People fresh out of college normally do not have the codeing experience needed to program a MMO without many issues. Thus leaving all the bugs for the testers too find. Then the tester has to find a resolution and take it back to the developer for fix's. Heres the problem with that!* The tester did not create the game so he is forced too find a quick fix that he knows for sure will work with each bug.* Without knowing if the fix "resolution" too the problem will cause bugs in other programs that are threaded with the one he's working on.* Developers IE the team you hire must pay close attention when making this game linking program after program via a web can lead to ALOT of issues that simple "quick fix's" cant allways fix.* Leave* your game open to possible upgrades in the future.
Everquest was made on a thread web c++ and look what happended too them everytime they updated or patched for any reason.... Customers complained they made small quick fix's* ONLY to huge problems and made a mess of the codework.* Be exact with every code line check and re-check for flaws before releaseing this game.* As a game maker myself and a future customer I 'm only wanting the best for my money.
It is not expensive to code correctly not when you think about all the man hours fixing cheap codeing;P Keep that in mind./end rant
#5 As mentioned above customer service is highly effective if done right.
A1* Have customers within the game be in-game 'Guides' test* the map skills and player skills of the person first of course.* If they qualify give them free stuff for helping other players in the game with easy to handle problems via the training you can give them in email alone would be good enough.* My character is stuck help me? A guide could help with a un-stuck tool, any MMO coder knows how to create.
B2 *If the guide or whatever you want to title them can't solve the problem? Give them a button to escilate them ticket to a actual GM in a prompt amount of time no more then Five minutes. That GM needs to have a full script of things . Like a Hat full of tricks too fiix anything fast.* When customers see that kind of attention they learn too respect the game world play in the game world longer tell friends about it and SPEND MONEY.* Customer service is actualy more important in the long run then flashy graphics Longevity in the MMO world is Key. You want Fiesta too last? Customer service is the way too go.
C3* Policy control. MMO's these days have massive fan base within the tween-teen market and then from 18-35. So make sure not to make policies that will **** off your older fan base by making a policy to make the kids happy. So a few parents may complain now and then But who of your fan base will have a credit card? The adults usually ... Yes these days its true alot of kids use mommys credit card. However they will never spend as much as a great addicted adult fan-boy will.* Never pass harsh rules about in-game cussing.
That will REALLY **** off the adults* who will in-turn open complaint tickets and cost you man hours in customer service. Examples like that.. Dont do it!* do your* best to brain storm with everyone in the office on every rule before it go's black and white.
D4 Never EVER make things harder nor easier then they should be in the game. Gamers want a challenge but not rediculous game hours in a forest or dungeon killing one creature for one stupid sword. Watch the drop rate %'s people get bored fast these days. 'Quests' "missions" same for those*A challenge but not stupid.
Sorry for the rant however*I felt it was needed I 'm in the office late working on some things and I thought if either myself or my kids are going too play Fiesta online and spend money it better be good!* I 'm tired of spending money on half-***'d games with no Long term goals in sight and alot of bugs.
