View Full Version : An idea. Not for Fiesta, but any MMORPG in general...

If you've played the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, do you remember how all the townsfolk walked around and did certain things at certain times of the day? I think it would be incredible if a MMORPG did something like that. In Fiesta, there are very few NPCs even in a big town like Elderine. I know that the players fill the empty space, but we're really only visitors. I think there should be townsfolk that walk around and interact with one another at specific times of the day. It would add so much realism to the game! What do you guys think?

Ok, so there's this game called World of Warcraft and inside one of the most important human towns there's a school teacher with her class wandering around and two kids fighting with each other. Not only is it completely unnessisary with all the mugger type players around you, but seeing those kids round the corner with my fail computer is enough to lag me to death without another living souls within any visible range.
Although the escaping prisoners is fun when you don't expect it.
But in a game like fiesta when people have trouble moving through all the venders, towns are small, and seemingly important npcs are useless it just wouldn't fit in. Something like gold selling npcs that ran around and advertised for the cs would he equally entertaining/annoying as having Woz's older brother come home and high five the little guy every 15minutes. Actually, players would probably wait around to lynch him...
So the moral of this story, go pay $15 for WoW?

Bad idea. Enough people complain about lag in the game already . Console games don't have to send server information over the internet. Most consoles CPU power is devoted to a graphics construct, and so games like GTA and that Zelda game can afford to have animated NPCs. Unless you have an alienware or a Nvidia your CPU and graphics card is being used for other things, and cannot support the requirements for animated NPCs.
Legend of Zelda for NES FTW! Only Zelda game I find worthwhile.
