Are you sure you used them properly ? Because it isn't supposed to break maybe it's a bug.

Did you place the Red Eye into the red colored slot at the bottom of the Enhancment window?
If you did, and it still broke, I'd suggest PM'ing a CSR and submitting a ticket to the support desk.

maybe he bought the normal red/blue (50%) rather than the perfect red/blue (100%)

i don't think they even sell the old 50% red/blues anymore. my guess is it didn't go in the box. i've done that before =P... maybe he assumed it would be taken out of inventory like when u consume a scroll or potion

yes i did use it correctly... the first time it broke then returned the two eye upgrades than i tried to upg another axe again and it worked just fine... maybe just a glitch or something

yes it put them back into my inventory but destroyed the item... makes no sense i know.. but i broke a previous axe cause i didnt put it in there then i did it broke and returned and then the 3rd axe finally worked

if it returned the red/blue then maybe u didn't split it? maybe you put a stack of 10 in there instead of just 1?

hmm... well i can't think of much more, the only time i've broken during enhancing with red/blue is because my red missed the box =P i thought it was in, my item broke, i wrote a LONG PM to Murdock, then looking over my screenshots, noticed that the red eyes were split in my inventory 6/1. so the "1" never made it in.
here it is (the split red eye is on the other inventory page though =P).. wow this was ages ago.. lol
