word filter?

hi there,
i would like to know if there would be a "bad word filter" in this game?
because in my opinion and my expieriences i made, it doesnt help at all and the people will use numbers and other "forms" to write those "bad words" down ;)
and it filters word from other languages too which only contains some parts of the word or whatever if you understand ^^
so it only makes the chatting grapper i think.
maybe you can include an option to put it out too, like in dark age of camelot :)
i can understand if you have to do this for a teen-rating in usk but i still hope to play without this.

Well like in any MMORPG game i think there will clearly be a "Word Filter" ... now only the producers of this game decides that if there will be or not... ;))

A filter is a program ... that add's censorship to non wanted word (in our case)

Example: "#$%^ing guy" example word $#%^ is censored ...

Thats what it is .. i think ..but I'm defenetly shure...

I hate when you type a sentence with a swear accidentally and the whole sentence gets deleted -.-

thats what i mean.
we're using words like "****" the whole day long without offending somebody. so a word filter would make conversations a lot harder tbh :P
and it does NOT stop kiddys and others in offending your users because if they wanna tell anybody to do some ugly things with his mother they are able and willing to do ;)

Plus it really doesn't matter since you can usually just turn it off.

You can't turn off the "if you say a swear your entire large sentence is deleted" filter.

Dude... no swearing is like the death of me lol especially if it wiped out the whole sentence. I end up getting so angry because I have to type my sentence like 6 times trying to not use a swear. And also if you gotta type really fast like in a kingdom quest or somewhere where you need your message out immediately, deleting your whole message could mean the death of your party

i personally think u shouldnt have a filter, it would be easier to report ppl

especially since ppl just type 4 *'s

I agree, I don't like filters, cause pleanty of people say cuss words and aren't like saying them "at" anyone, just like saying them, but then again there are some people, but in my opinion I say there shouldn't be one in the begining, and just nobody cuss like all the time and all, and report the users who are abusing it, and then later on if it gets to out of hand you can add one

i suggest it to have an option to enable and disable word filtering. and if its enable, give the user the ability to edit the filtering list. make it have 2 version, simple version and an advance filtering version. the simple version would just be regular text that ppl add to the filtering list and will be filter base on the games code, and the advance version would use regular expression instead to do their filtering instead (which i'm sure a lot you programmer would love to use) =p of course this would be client-side ^^

i dont think they should have a filter it just gets anoying and sometimes they censor it out when you accidently type somethink like "vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv" like on runescape and it jus makes you look bad
