View Full Version : Unfair or just me?

A guy in AEW declared war on a 4x fighter in my party the other day because apparently he "stole his trumpies"..
Is it just me or is AEW a public area.. therefore he does not OWN these trumpies and does not have the right to ridicule my party, repeatedly kill the 4x fighter (this guy is 6x and has a capped fighter helping him out) then yell at my clerics for healing the fighter in my party?
I just felt like venting and getting opinions (you can even post replies yelling at me if you want, I just want some opinions on this subject) because I do not think this is fair or right... Behavior like that over 2 or 3 trumpies the fighter took from "his side of the area" that he says is his because he was there for 4-5 hours.. wth you never heard of sharing or maybe taking a break and letting another party have a chance? 5 hours is a very long time..
I did not post this in guild thread or post the guild name because I have nothing against the guild.. just this guy for being so disgustingly selfish.. I'm not going to post his name because he knows who he and I know who he is and I'd prefer it stayed that way..

You are correct. Spot claiming is against the ToS and is a reportable offense.it is alos against the ToS to war a guild simply because one member won't do what another player wants. The next time it happens, take a screenshot of the offense and PM it on the forums to Fiesta_Help, the GMs and CSRs inbox for all in-game related issues. Be sure to include your IGN, your server name, the names of all those directly involved, and the date and time helps too, and explain the situation in full (just look at what time you took the pic).

No one can legally claim a spot in the game. If someone moves in , there is nothing that can be done, no matter how long they have been there.
Declaring war over reasons like this IS against the rules and considered harassment. The ones who declared the war, and were spot claiming can be jailed for this, and their guild could even be disbanded.
I do believe conducting a war outside of a town is also against the rules, or can be considered harassment as well.
If you have any screenshots of this, please send them to the GM's via Fiesta_help.http://outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?p=685066#post685066

I was of the understanding that wars can occur wherever the two guilds agree to do it. But, again, I am not 100% on that. It happens most in towns because no threat from mobs joining the fun, and towns are hubs for all the players, it's a better chance there will be more than one player present at a war in Elderine or Uruga than if you held it in CP or a PVP zone.

I think the rule I'm referring to has to do with going out, targeting people grinding outside of town and killing them. If both agree to it I understand. But if someone doesn't want to participate, and are outside of town, it can be harassment. I'd have to look at the Gw Rules again, there was another post along with that that had narrowed down about 3 things that can be reported concerning guild wars. -_- Can't find it for the life of me.
But that situation was definitely reportable, they tried to harass and coerce people out of their "spot" with a war.

Yea, that's why I said, if both guild agree to do the war outside of a town. You are right on about using guild war to get your way as harassment.

This thread is posted in response to the amount of Guild War harassment issues we have been receiving.
First however are some facts about guilds.
1. When a guild is first created, there is an option, in the form of a small box that gives the option of being a non warring guild. Please note that if a player makes or is a member of a non warring guild you will be unable to participate in the GM Guild War event.
2. ANY player that joins a warring guild accepts certain risks by being a member of that guild. The most obvious of these is being warred when you are not wanting to pvp.
Now the rules of guild warring:
1. Guild wars are never to be used as a means of coercion. What this means is NEVER threaten to guild war a player if they refuse to do something you want. This is a form of harassment and doing so will risk action against the individual, the guild admins, and in severe cases deletion of the guild
2. Guild wars are never to be used as a means of revenge. It doesn’t matter how much a player may have offended you, or how much you may not like them. This is one reason why we have a block feature.
3. Chain warring (continuously warring a guild whenever possible) is prohibited. Unless agreed upon by both guilds. So threatening or actively warring a guild repeatedly is not allowed unless both guilds say it is okay.
4. Guild wars are never to be used to kick a player out of an area, or to ruin a players good time.
The key with most of these rules is intent. If the intent of any war is to break any of these rules, action WILL be taken. Please realize some of these rules may appear to be broken during the course of an average guild war, so take the circumstances into account before reporting it.
Guidelines
These are just some guidelines to try and follow for a fair and enjoyable guild war experience. These guidelines are optional, and do not constitute a violation of the rules except under extreme circumstances.
1. Don’t spawn kill: Try to give a warring player a chance to recover and prepare before attacking them. This will help promote good relations even between rival guilds.
2. Don’t shop kill: If a player is in a shop try not to kill them. The point of pvp is to test your skill against fellow players in combat. Not against a player who can’t fight back.
3. Try to keep the guild wars in town: While certainly not always possible, trying to keep a guild war in town will allow those players who do not want to participate in the war from having to get involved.
4. Give warred players a chance to withdraw if they ask for it: Some player may just want to leave. If a player asks to be left alone to go level or quest please try to be courteous and allow them to withdraw from the field
I hope this clarifies once and for all the rules and guidelines for the guild wars. I will be making changes to this document as new situations arise.

Thats just disturbing...high levels should never do that, its so wrong. They need to act their level as I say. You run into stuff like this all the time in the PvP Battle Grounds, its very sad :*(

Dakkon had a moment earlier this afternoon on Teva in FoS over a similar issue, lol. I feel bad for the man @.@
No one can own a spot, but moving in on a spot is rude and isn't exactly common courtesy. Once someone has aggro'd or hit a mob, it is theirs.
Warring to clear a spot is against guild war rules I believe.
