Unfortunately, if you have DSL internet connection (like me) there arent solutions, you will get lag for sure. There's a useful thread (made by KireiYosei) to 'reduce' lag:

If you have Cable internet connection, you could have viruses in your pc. A complete scan with your antivirus/antispyware/internet protection software could solve the problem. If you have doubts about internet safety and stuff you may check this thread:

It depends if its 'graphic lag' or connection lag you are getting. If frame rate is low (graphic lag) on your PC, it means your graphic card and CPU are not fast enough. Fiesta is a quite graphic intense and demanding. The only solution is to upgrade your PC. Also, to check if your CPU is taking on more than it can chew, after you get into the game (ideally in Elderine), use alt+tab back to desktop and then hit ctrl+alt+del top open 'task manager', and see what's the % on the CPU usage. If it's on 100%, it means your CPU is too slow.

May be can you post the spec of your PC? Particularly the CPU and Graphic card.

Keep in mind I have a powerhouse PC, and I still get lag in town and such...There's really no way to get rid of graphical lag apart from reducing quality (eww) or buying new computer parts (yay).

Lower resolution help ALOT, (1024x768)
Anything that reduces texture quality, character quality, shadow and lighting quality, and also distance view will help to improve video lag.

If you still are getting bad lag in town, last resort is to press (Shift + Z) to hide all players. This will reduce the graphical load on your PC tremendously and allow you to walk freely in town.

If after all that, you are still getting video lag, sorry to say it might be time for a better video card / computer. :(

Anti-Ailiasing should be [OFF]
Backgrounds: set to L
Distance: set to L
Shadows: set to L
resolution: 1024x768
Character outline: MIGHT help, I'm not too sure how they have this set up.

Also, making player names not apear in town may help reduce graphical lag.

Hm...I got a XFX overclocked 8800GTS graphic card and a Quad core Q6600 G0 stepping CPU (which I overclocked from the stock 2.4Ghz to 3.2Ghz)...I run everything in Fiesta in full details including with Anti-Ailiasing on at 1280x1024, and I barely get any problem graphic wise even if running around in Elderine...except for when guild war, which is when I will notice it slow down a bit.
